The first episode of the Halo show feels like the creation of somebody who doesn't care about Halo and used it as a means of telling their own story.
Makes it all the more frustrating that the story in question is terribly written.
Overcast weather is the best weather, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. People like greenery (for obvious and indisputable reasons), but they don't like the meteorological phenomenon which creates it. Absurd and unfair.
People don't knowingly hold false views. This has to mean that people believe the things they say/think are true or "right," regardless of whether they label them as opinions or substantiated, authoritative claims.
You cannot “win” when it comes to media analysis. This is literally why the objective mindset is shunned by so many. It proposes that you can be “right” when it comes to analysis of inherently subjective material
I went to get a slice of cheese out of the fridge, and no sooner had I opened the door when the image of Homer eating a hundred slices of American cheese formed in my head.
I'm mildly concerned about the extent to which Simpsons references have consumed my mind.
I JUST NOW realised that Task Force 141 is a reference to the phrase, "One for one and one for all."
For over a decade, I thought they were called 141 simply because it sounded cool.
Prey is cool. Good protagonists, sound plot structure, thematically interesting, and a strong utilisation of the predator. A few problems here and there, but otherwise, a great concept quite well realised.
First cut of the Endgame video is done. It's now a matter of tweaking and polishing. Still lots to do, but not much in the grand scheme of things.
Soon, my friends. Very soon.
The season premiere of The Last of Us is solid. Plenty to commend. If the first episode is anything to go by, the show will be expanding many of the game's major story beats. I'm curious to see how they handle that task, and otherwise keen to watch the story unfold.
Endgame video update: All the narration has (finally) been recorded. The timeline for the first cut is 90% processed. Estimated runtime is roughly two hours.
Still lots of work to, but the light at the end of the tunnel is growing brighter.

Part 1 of 99 of how this 10 seconds destroys the goals and merits of real filmmaking and the legacy that is the Original Trilogy. How dare anyone have something fun and silly in the wake of such intellect! HOW DARE THEY!
Feels like we've entered into an era where skepticism regarding massive mergers and the further consolidation of media companies is non-existent, simply because one or two niche franchises might consequently be revived or integrated into other products we like.
Your friendly neighbourhood plague doctor is now available in vinyl form, and he comes bearing his signature goo too!
The vinyl is only available for a limited time, so head on over to Makeship to get your very own Fringy vinyl!
Uncharted was about as generic as I expected. Thin characters and wonky plot. A great combo.
As a big fan of the games, I really didn't like it as an adaptation. The characters simply aren't the same, and the tone of the games was lost in translation.

Thanks for the kind words and constructive feedback on the new video. It's hard to say whether everything will come together in the end when working on these big projects, but so long as people enjoyed it, I'm happy. Plus, each new project presents an opportunity for growth!
The Fringy vinyl is part of the EFAP Collection, along with MauLer and Rags! If you add all three to your cart on Makeship, a discount will be applied at the checkout! I think that's swell!
I've recently started on the second draft of the novel, and it's already been a painful exercise in self-reflection.
That is if forming thoughts such as "why did you think any of this was good" and "you're a hack" constitutes self-reflection.
The way that stories make you feel is subjective, but the actual content of the story is set in stone. Saying "Star Wars is set in Calgary" is wrong, and if my OPINION on Star Wars is contingent on my citing such a point, then surely my opinion is erroneous, right?
A bunch of developers and publishers have been announcing free next-gen upgrades for their upcoming games, which is really great and should be commended. This and cross-play are breaking down barriers which used to prevent people from playing games on their platform of choice.
Just own your positions. Stop using "in my view" or "I personally think" as a shield against any and all criticism. Own the fact that you think what you've said is correct for "X" reasons so that discussion can be fostered instead of being sent crashing into a brick wall.
Perusing Twitter while a Presidential Debate is happening feels like staring through two interdimensional portals connecting to diametrically opposed universes.

Buy it, you cheap-ice-skates!
No reasonable person is going to demand that a normal film-goer who says "I dunno, I just liked the movie" provide their list of reasons.
When a critic says "I liked the movie for X reasons" and "X" reasons are categorically false, their "opinion" must be open to criticism.
Remember, if you're not happy with how your narration/voiceover sounds after the first recording session, don't do another four very lengthy recording sessions before inevitably deciding to start over again.
That would be really stupid.
