We will all miss Claire. Her enthusiasm and her positive energy! Thanks Claire for what you have done for the ISTH. Sadly, Claire McLintock, M.D., passed away on December 23, 2022.
Today is 40 years I left Iran and arrived to Milan-Italy. However this country as well as the UK and US gave me a lot and I grow up and did tremendous amount of things but I still miss my country, my culture my friends and one day I would like to have you all in a peaceful Iran
Today I had a chance to talk with lots of enthusiasts young people. I think we should bring lots of young people to our society. We need to be more
#international
, more
#young
people and more
#women
from all over the
#world
. Important goal to achieve.
#WomenInScienceDay
Today is our day and I would like to congratulate all scientist women in the World who worked hard to bring their opinion and thoughts particularly those in the countries with several political restrictions and limitations.
It is my pleasure to report you ,as the president of ISTH, that we had 3 intense days of discussion and work with the council members and SSC rappresentative on how to evolve the
#ISTH
in future making sure it’s progress diversity involving more and more early young scientists
Here is

The other important mission our society in future will be to invest on the basic science , a good quality clinical science and involve more and more on our young scientists
Am already in Montreal, starting with the
#ISTH
activities. The first meeting will be the ISTH council meeting evaluating all our ongoing activities and planning several new action plans on
#early
carrier, improve
#research
funding and make sure our
#education
will reach all
I watched lots of presentations. We are ready for more interdisciplinary collaborations. We need to involve more neurologists, cardiologists, hepatologists , bioinformaticians and use the most advanced technologies working on the role of micro vessels in Medicine.
I was already convinced but talking and hearing to people with rare bleeding disorders today at
#EHC
made me to realise “ We need to do much more on VWD, platelet disorder and all other rare disorders with not optimised diagnosis and treatment “
Am preparing my presentation on informed consent in gene therapy. Is such a difficult and important point and could differ in different cultures. However one point is crucial both the physician and the patient should know clearly and deeply pros and cons of such treatment
Tomorrow is
#April
17th! Let’s celebrate the
#Haemophilia
day for the great progress achieved by the arrival of longer acting, non replacement and gene therapies. Let’s also focus in the following years on number of un treated patients. We have a meeting in Rome with
#Fedemo
Prof Makris opens officially the

on
#non
replacement therapies in bleeding disorders other than haemophilia. Is amazing how many novel therapeutics is becoming available for treatment of hemophilia and still is so poor treatment of RBDs. I hope we move forward
Prof Ragni reports Recombinant
#VWF
is not superior to tranexamic acid in reducing heavy menstrual bleeding in patients with mild or moderate von Willebrand disease a phase 3, open-label, randomised, crossover trial
And here the beautiful and functional team of the
#ISTH
who worked hard to make our meeting unique! Thanks so much to all of you. It was an honour to work with you. Grazie

and hemostasis. I am so proud of this work of the ISTH basic science research group! Thanks so much. This will be a great opportunity
I arrived to Colombo
#Sri
Lanka at 4AM and have my presentation at 10AM. The meeting is organised by the the
#WFH
Humanitarian program thanks to Assad Haffar and his team. So excited to see all friends from Africa and Middle East . Thanks Assad for inviting me!
#Emicizumab
donation program of
#WFH
shows that dose of 6 mg/kg monthly works very well in both pediatric and adult patients- data reported by several African and Asian physicians. I hope these data will be published soon

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (cTTP)
Today I had a talk on novel
#therapies
in hemophilia for the personalised medicine organised by the
#European
Commission. Was a great discussion on safety of novel drugs. How to monitor the safety and how to harmonise the data collection which is a big challenge
Lovely lunch with
@Prof
Alok Srivastava in
#mahabalipuram
talking about the progress of gene therapy in Haemophilia in India. Look forward to see their data. Come to
#BIC
meeting in September in Italy to see these results
An extensive

@ProfMakris
@wfhemophilia
@PakPMO
This is really sad and am pretty sure there are other countries in a same condition. We are talking about gene therapy in hemophilia in Europe and still having hemophilia patients with HCV and HIV in other region of the world is not acceptable
On return from ASH San Diego to Denver. Is beautiful to see the extreme change of the weather. Thanks to ASH organisers for the great meeting and see you all in Bangkok for the

Mahal is a palace in the city of
#Jaipur
, India. Built from red and pink sandstone and is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers. Where women could see and select and no one could see them. I like the idea!
Lots of persons with
#haemophilia
are facing the aging. How we have to follow them , of course including also mild and moderate ones which we do not know a lot. These were the words of Jo. Thanks Jo for reporting this important issue to us. We need more data
