I was wrong about @/thevtuberawards nomination process! It's worse! They're running the nomination and voting period AT THE SAME TIME. Not only that they have the LIVE VOTE COUNT on the voting page. Also if you're nominated (by anyone) you'll have to EMAIL them to withdraw.

If the shop offers "free expressions" look at the examples! Often they are whole new models that were generated or edited. Check models of different art styles from the same shop to see if the mouth is copypasted or pixelated

Imagine someone doing improv comedy for 4+ hours every other day to an audience they can't see. They also have to multi-task as their own stage crew + staff and never know when a new crowd will enter and have to immediately engage them. Impressive, right? That's livestreaming.

Ok let's talk about it. FalseEyeD's scoop of Niji threatening a con over him is built on the assumption of False being a serious nonthreatening figure. A reputation thats diminished since this exchange. It's very noticeable how prominent people associate with him less and less.

As someone that's worked with guests before at cons - yeah, understandable. We do risk assessments. If we think a certain crowd is more likely to turn up due to the presence of a guest and put either them or others at risk, we talk to the guest and re-evaluate our options.

Check the shop's other items for sale! If one thing is AI then it's possible they use AI for others. If they offer way too many other products of different art styles for cheap that should be suspicious

Most shops won't show a rigged example but there are some that try! Study the video for any parts that move strangely or include parts of other layers they shouldn't. Eyes also look really weird when they close so pause the video when they do!

The hair behind the head is the easiest place to check for suspicious features. Since parts are cut out they are limited in how far they can move. Scammers will sometimes paint in the missing part so look at the parts that would be underneath other layers I hope this helped!

The awards are currently overrun with nominations for big agency vtubers. Will Cover and Nijisanji have to email Logcast in order to have their talent removed? Do Logcast even know who's an agency vtuber? Ina's pic is of Kronii and they even used the Hades logo for one person.

We had this same sort of situation last year which lead to discourse about how to properly run rating streams. I even explicitly mentioned the incident in my bad collab experiences doc as an example of HIGHLY inappropriate behaviour. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Lemme expand on some things as someone that has a bg in event management and has helped organise cons in the past. Risk assessments are VITAL. Some insurance companies won't insure you without one or will refuse to cover if you didn't take steps to prevent a risk you knew about.

Can't stop thinking about Zaion's termination. Her genmates were begging and fighting with her to make better choices. She backstabbed them. I guess this shows that outright narcissists rarely rise to the top in the vtuber world, which is kinda comforting tbh.
