Amazingly, around a third of the East of Scotland League season has come and gone already. It seemed like only yesterday that many of us were mooching around on a Saturday afternoon missing our football fix. A look at how Fife sides are faring is now up
Five boys from Markinch in Fife went to a football match on this day in 1971. They never came home. Peter Easton 13, Mason Philip 14, Bryan Todd 14, Ronald Paton 14 & Douglas Morrison 15. Remembering them and the other 61 who never returned from watching the game we love

Shippy Ultras. There may only be 6 of them, but they had a drum AND a loudhailer, which I suspect could be heard as far away as Methil. Great support of your team today guys 👏

Today's blast from the past. Queue to get into Stark's Park in March 1956 for a Scottish Cup tie v Partick Thistle. Crowd was 18,264 with Raith winning 2-1. Rovers lost in a semi-final replay against Hearts. Those two games at Easter Road attracted 58,448 and 54,233. Astonishing
Burger and a beer at West Ham £17.10. A Tam Courts pie and a bottle of Shipyard at Burntisland, less than a fiver. You know it makes sense 🙂😁

"Captain, there's a right big hoor o' a spaceship coming towards us, an ye want tae see the bastardin' size o' the thing, it's a gid wan or twa size bigger than oors, ken!" 😂
Player of the day. Bobby Smith. The Perminator. Won a First Division title with Dunfermline in 1989. Eight years with Leicester, making his debut on the same day as Gary Lineker. He had three spells with Hibs, winning the Dryburgh Cup in 1973. Passed away in 2010, aged just 56
What an utterly disgraceful series of events, which ultimately cost a town its football club. Now those involved are patting each other on the backs as they've decided to go ahead with it after all. Too late for Rosyth FC, but who cares when it all comes down to making 💰💰
Wishing a Merry Christmas to all my chums on here. Thanks for the chat and the laughs. A cyber pint to each and every one of you, and I hope Santa is good to you and yours 🎅 🍻
Billy Liddell. Born in Townhill, Fife. Played for Kingseat Juveniles and Lochgelly Violet where he was spotted by Matt Busby, then a Liverpool player. He moved south and racked up 534 games for Liverpool, scoring 228 goals. Only 3 Liverpool have players scored more. Legend
A very short series of players who played for both Raith Rovers and Rangers as we head towards Sunday's Scottish Cup tie between the two. Second up, Big Marv

60 years ago yesterday, Dunfermline beat the holders Valencia 6-2 at East End Park in the Fairs Cup, cancelling out a 4-0 defeat in Spain in the 1st leg. The Pars were 5-1 up at half time. In the days before away goals counted double, Valencia won 1-0 in a play-off in Lisbon
Big win for Dunfermline, putting them 8pts clear of Falkirk. Pedestrian first half by the Pars with the Bairns much slicker. Different team 2nd half, came out the traps, couple of close efforts, then 2 goals in 8 mins killed it. Tod the 🌟. Great to see East End full again
OTD in 1988, Dunfermline beat Rangers 2-0 in the Scottish Cup 4th Round. Goals from Mark Smith and John Watson. Crowd: 19,360
Dunfermline team>
McKellar, Robertson, McCathie, Anderson, Holt, B Smith, M Smith, Robertson, Beedie, Jack and Watson
Full time in the Scottish Amateur Cup Final at Hampden and Cupar Hearts have won 3-1 after a fine performance 🥳 They become the first Fife side to win the cup two years running. Many, many congratulations 🍾
The Aston Villa side that won the European Cup in 1982. Three players in the pic were born in the Kingdom of Fife - Ken McNaught and Andy Blair, both Kirkcaldy and Allan Evans, Dunfermline
Today's blast from the past. Ian Redford, who played for Raith Rovers in the 1994/95 season when he won a First Division title and a League Cup Winners medal. He was due to take the next penalty for Rovers in that final but McStay missed and the rest is history. RIP Ian
Jock Stein, born on this day in 1922. Managed Dunfermline Athletic 1960-64, winning the Scottish Cup in 1961, and leading the Pars into some famous European wins against the likes of Everton and Valencia
Huge pat on the back to Raith Rovers for taking this match on and for putting out a 1st team squad against their EoSFL neighbours. Kirkcaldy's average gate last season was 79, so to see 570 come along is just amazing and will hugely benefit the club. Well done to all involved 👏
A great night for Kirkcaldy & Dysart and the Kirkcaldy Community as a whole as Raith Rovers FC won 3-0 in tonight’s friendly match at the Alex Penman Park. Second half goals from Aiden Connelly, Callum Smith and Ross Mathews saw Raith run out worthy winners but …..
KELTY HEARTS - League 2 Champions
CROSSGATES PRIMROSE - Alex Jack Cup Winners
RAITH ROVERS - SPFL Trust Trophy winners.
Not a bad trophy haul for Fife clubs in the last few weeks 👏🍾🥳
Tremendous achievement by the Pars. One defeat in the league all season with 3 to play. Cheerio Falkirk, hello Rovers. Always special when a Fife team wins a title. Savour the moment 📸 DAFC
The East Fife v Cowdenbeath rivalry. "They come from near Lochgelly...they huvnae got a telly..." The interviews with folk in both towns are priceless. Cowden fans were last seen trying to come up with a response that rhymed "East Fife and wife". So funny 🤣
Colin Cameron. Born in Kirkcaldy, went to Balwearie High. Scotland international, Raith Rovers and Cowdenbeath player, Burntisland Shipyard trialist, Cowdenbeath manager and now Raith Rovers Assistant Manager. Fifer 💙
Today's blast from the past. John Watson and George Best, who played together at Hong Kong Rangers in 1982 (Best only played one game). Watson signed for the Pars the following year - for a £300 signing-on fee - and the rest, they say, is history
East Fife 4 Kilmarnock 2. Scottish Cup Final 1938. A 1-1 draw on the Saturday in front of 80,000. 93,000 turned up for the replay on the Wednesday. Spaces probably amongst the Killie support 😉
Today's blast from the past. A Marc Miller penalty against Airdrie on the final day of the 1995-96 season, Dunfermline becoming First Division champions. An emotional season for the Pars following the passing of captain Norrie McCathie in the January
