Here’s TPS thinking they are IOF, stopping people leaving the Exhibition GO station. Their reason? Keffiyehs, “Palestine colours”, pins and flags were not allowed on CNE property. Even if this were true, we weren’t entering the CNE but trying to get to the eastbound TTC stop.

Years ago, when I publicly protested the air show for its pollution and harm to animals and war survivors, I received rape threats via email and social media. This only deepened my understanding about the air show’s meanings and underpinnings.

My mother died when I was a child. I learned to see myself as a motherless daughter and Mothers’ Day was difficult. A few years ago, this shifted when I began to feel her presence with me again. I am no longer motherless. I never really was.
