If you're a Twich streamer dreading the Adpocalypse because the Ad Incentive Program (AIP) has become too tempting and you don't want to ruin your stream, here's some tips that TWITCH REALLY SHOULD BE TELLING EVERYONE for their own interest, but I'll do it here.
π§΅10 Tips below
I'm being very serious when I say this clip right here is the most distilled example of exactly why Overwatch falls behind other shooters in popularity
Landing all your shots and abilities and it's not enough to out-stat someone holding left click who is literally not hittable
I'm aware of how scary it is to speak up about unsavory people in the VTuber scene, but I really hope collectively everyone can agree that dropping slurs and proudly declaring your platform as "not a safe space" is well beyond the realm of "drama" and is instead a safety issue.
Ran into a Mercy player in Overwatch today who no joke attached a motor to their free moving scroll wheel on their G502 mouse so they could switch between healing and damage boost so fast it does both at the same time
if you're not doing this you're just throwing tbh
Overwatch players: "blizzard please fix the game ranked queue is awful and these heroes are broken the meta doesn't change for months the community is toxic 2CP is awful everyone is smurfing streamers are quitting please do something"
Blizzard:
Just to be complete on this issue, Twitch partnered with PayPal's charity service so Twitch can't add or remove anything on their own without just throwing away everything.
Honestly I'd rather they just cancel this partnership entirely if the alternative is including AS
If you're a ActiBlizz game content creator, consider using your platform tomorrow to amplify the voices of the employees who will be on strike tomorrow.
There are over TWO THOUSAND employees calling for action. Stand with them.
BREAKING: Activision Blizzard employees will strike tomorrow outside Blizzard's campus to protest the company's responses to the discrimination lawsuit and to demand more equitable treatment for staff
So many people are encouraging their friends to apply but think they aren't good enough to apply themselves, disregarding their own advice
So instead, I will do the I opposite
I'm applying. Everyone else don't apply so I win by default (I deserve it)

I just want to get off my chest that about a year and a half ago I was verbally and emotionally abused by an ex vtuber friend and to this day I still lose friends because of what she said to people about me and, save for one exception, I've never once been asked for my experience
how come Zen will get distracted by loot in the most dire situations in every game but if someone asks Zen to shoot them she suddenly gets Valorant pro esports grade reaction times with 180 degree flicks
Felt compelled to write about folks feeling isolated in the vtuber scene for some reason. I really wish I could just make everyone unafraid of each other.
Unfortunately, you must do this yourself.
(not directed towards any individuals. I've been posting about this forever)
Helldivers fans -- weβve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
Weβre still
Managed to roll the single best Content Warning moment out of the first hour of playing it
featuring
@HeavenlyyFather
getting absolutely annihilated WWE style
I've suggested to Twitch multiple times they *need* to start encouraging streamers to take breaks and implement features directly into the platform to reward it and compensate for the losses (real or perceived) from taking time off of a live streaming platform. π§΅(1/6)
re: "OW2 just looks like OW1"
That's kinda the point. The biggest difference that makes OW2 so much fun is because of the things that were removed. 2CP maps, crowd control chains, metas defined by tank duos, all gone. Things that would ruin a major percentage of OW1 matches.
I just want everyone to know this kind of horrific stuff is still happening every day and people must still continue to fight for their right to exist in the richest country on earth
This is just one instance of brutality of many that didn't make it to our TL's
Fuck the police
Minnesota police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protests over the police killing of
#DaunteWright
.
The killing in Brooklyn Center was 10 miles from where Derek Chauvin is on trial.
A protester said: "We're not gonna keep taking police killing Black people for no reason."
APEX LEGENDS SEASON 17 COLLABATHON SCHEDULE IS HERE.
Can the Frog collab with over 30 streamers in one massive week of Apex? FOUND OUT TUESDAY.
CATCH YOUR FAV'S, MARK YOUR CALENDARS. It's gonna be a big one this season.
tw // suicide
I threatened to throw a match because a teammate told someone to kill themself in voice chat. They said it shouldn't be a big deal, but it's the only way people like this will learn
Take their toys away until they apologize. Throw the game if they're harassing you
Truly I understand anyone who doesn't want to engage with "vtuber drama" but please if you're gonna make vague tweets about it please consider that some of this """drama""" is actual abuse and making "I hate drama" type tweets about it is only serving abusers and hurting victims.
vtuber friends I am BEGGING y'all to watch your own twitch vods regularly to check for audio/video issues
you might think chat will just tell you but they are not engineers and they do not know if it's their issue or yours. You gotta check yourself
make sure your mic is loud
The r-word is a slur! It's bad to say it! People who proudly say it knowing full well that the community affected by it have collectively decided it is a slur are not good people! People who defend them are also bad!
It's that simple and there's no two ways about it.
Audio things I wanna tell vtubers part 8000: stop using discord's noise suppressor if you don't need to
In collabs your discord audio is CONTENT. Laughter, screams, or unique voices often get suppressed
If you're using it to block keyboard sounds, invest in quieter key switches
Just got word about the Next for Autism charity going on with a lot of influencers/celebrities being involved
On their own website, they clearly state they and their partners are backing ABA and "alternative medicine" and have no autistic advocates
So yeah... don't support that
now when people ask me "what does being a Twitch Ambassador mean?" I can say I told them to make this feature and they actually hecking did it
can't wait to give it a try
Knock, knock! Streamers can now collaborate with other Twitch streamers who are live without any advanced setup or planning. Look for the collaboration icon to find a streamer in your network who is open to collaborating with you and click βKnockβ to get started.
Learn more:
quietly keeping record of OW streamers who are streaming OW without tweeting or acknowledging the walkout today
stream the game if you want, I get it, but if you're gonna dodge the issue... why do you even have the platform
I regret to report that taking a 30-50 minute walk every day for a month has seemingly solved almost all of my health and sleep problems and is also helping my mood. It actually works.
thinkin' about all the streamer friends I'd have if Twitch community didn't somehow normalize a competitive culture leading to attention avoidance to the point where streamers genuinely believe talking in another streamer's chatroom is clout chasing and looked down upon
Guys I am serious COVID rates are increasing every day since June and everyone is still acting like it's just not a problem anymore
All my friends are getting really sick and no one is talking about it or taking it seriously and it's angering me
Please wear a respirator
Surely by now I hope the entire esports scene can recognize that building an industry on teenagers who don't know how to behave, socialize, or not abuse people isn't sustainable.
Esports staff need to start coming with social skills teachers, sensitivity training, and therapy.
"Toaster you have so many friends" the reality is I'm in the toughest spot I've ever been in regarding making friends
Too big for small steamers to be comfortable talking to me, too small to be a priority for bigger steamers who need to keep tight circles for their safety
The best feeling shooters feel good because there's feedback. There's reward for accurately landing your shots and predicting movements
People are booting up OW and having fights like this and it's an immediate reminder that the shooter feel of the game hasn't improved for years
I can't handle this anymore man
I'm so tired of being the person that gets my friends to stop being so terrified of my other friends just for them all to start being better friends without me and do nothing to include me
I'm literally guiding everyone to the thing I can't have
The entire games industry needs to get on Blizzard's case because Blizzard exec's are pushing talent out of the *entire* industry through their incompetence. It's hurting all of us and every game studio. Not just Blizz devs, the entire industry is being held back by Bobby.
Overwatch Community:
"add π more π cleanse π"
"reward π more π accuracy π"
"make π moira π fun π"
Blizzard: okay here's a rough draft concept for some moira changes try it out see what ya think
Overwatch community: "why are devs so stupid"
4. Above all else just MANUALLY PLAY ADS instead of letting the ad manager automatically play them. The BIGGEST complaint about ads is when ads interrupt main content. If you manually play an ad, the upcoming scheduled ad break goes away. Just do this, always, all the time.
Ngl I had a really bad morning today but somehow
@zentreya
always seems to force me into the most hilarious collabs when I need a reason to get out of bed
Cool streamer
I guess
Kinda want to make a thread about misconceptions in VTuber collabing and socializing 'cause there's so many people that I want to play with but come to me about it all wrong
not wrong in a way like they're cringe or I think less of them but just being afraid or intimidated by it
DPS players after spamming choke points with Hanzo arrows for 3 and a half years randomly getting kills:
DPS players after Moira orb tickles them for their last remaining 50 health the moment she became meta: "THIS ABILITY IS SO BADLY DESIGNED REWORK MOIRA"
3. Communicate with your audience on ads. Give your chat something to do, an emote to spam, an activity or health check to keep up with during ad break. I have a follower emote to spam during ads and remind viewers to check on themselves. Laundry, meds, stretch, refill water, etc
1. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT THE AD MANAGER ON YOUR DASHBOARD
You have to manually edit the layout of your dashboard to put in the ad manager, but once you do you can manually play ads, see your upcoming ad schedule, and delay ads if needed
You gotta click here (great UI I know)
2. Open your stream with ad breaks. Playing more ads early (first 30mins to an hour,) where the audience will be mostly subscribers and dedicated viewers, will limit disruption for new viewers browsing, but still fulfill your schedule of ads for that hour and disable pre roll ads
I'm also one of the people that gets a full say in that because I grew up with learning disabilities and had to hear that word from students and teachers daily. The word has a meaning and it's not mild. It's not a joke. They called me that word because they wanted me dead.
Had a guy in Overwatch flame me saying the only reason I maintain GM is because I keep beating tank players that are worse than me.
He really thought he was saying something with that.
That's how EVERYONE ranks up. That's how skill is measured in ranked systems.
best thing I've done for my stream's audio quality since becoming a vtuber is putting a compressor filter on discord output so I don't have to ever mess with volume and everyone's mic always sounds the same level in collabs no matter how loud they are for me
please do it friends
doing tech support for corporate VTuber friends with the absolute most abominable OBS/Windows/audio settings makes me realize my streamer tech consulting is probably worth many thousands of dollars to some of these corp's and they should give me loads of money to fix their heck
So now that NDA is lifted I gotta talk about the time
@WarnTV
accidentally joined the OW2 NDA discord voice channel during a live stream and I helped him play it off by saying it was a furry role-playing server to his stream
Tested positive for COVID
I have not gone out for several weeks so it was 100% from my family of COVID deniers who would gaslight me anytime I tried to convince them to take COVID seriously
going to work on moving out as soon as possible. I wish I did sooner
I hate my family
Hello. Today I am 29.
I am also now ready to share with everyone that I am bisexual and genderfluid/non-binary. He and They pronouns currently interchangeable.
I've known this about myself for a long time. It's time you all do too.
Birthday Zelda BotW stream starting soon.
Support streamers who decide to quit playing Blizzard games
a lot of them don't want to because it can disrupt their livelihood. If you want them to quit as much as they want to, help them do it
(of course if the Vtuber community addresses this it may open the gate to address other forms of rampant ableist humor predominant in the scene, like jokes around schizophrenia, psychosis, "the voices," OCD, PTSD, etc which I think is a conversation many VTubers aren't ready for)
I was in the middle of teaching
@EllyVtuber
some FPS fundamentals in the Apex firing range and out of nowhere
@zentreya
joins the range lobby and kills me like a freaking Dark Souls invader she's such a public enemy
I don't know what to do with myself today
I haven't been happy during a birthday for so long I don't remember what it must feel like
I put on a strong face last year but honestly I'm not really recovered from everything
I want to stream something though, idk what yet
Guys I landed a gig that will actually just pay for all the big moving and hardware expenses I wasn't expecting to have to make for the past two months we are so back
It's the number one thing that keeps me distant from people I want to connect with. Because they're friends with people who supported this abuser and didn't believe me. I don't want to lose friends over it so I just distance and end up with less friends anyway
Abusers suck dude
