to discuss the relief I and so many women victimized by Dr Hadden felt with the guilty verdict delivered today in federal court. Justice was served today but it was a long time coming.
It’s been one month since my interview on CNN. Over 70 women have now come forward about being assaulted by the same doctor. He practiced for decades. I believe there are many more women still.
Chinatown, NYC. Look at the long, long line of mostly Asian women and elderly waiting to get their pepper spray. This is the clearest sign people are living in fear 😔💔

It doesn’t matter how “nice” the place is— if our kids were forcibly taken, didn’t know where we were or when they would see us next — they would not be well. It’s deeply disturbing that you would need to explain that to any human being.
If you didn’t know, here is an appalling statistic: Black women are 3x more likely to die at childbirth. This is structural racism at work but in an instance where there are no cell phones to capture the brutality. We need to STOP the killing.

Breaking:
@EvelynYang
revealed to us earlier this year she was sexually abused by her OBGYN, Robert Hadden, who got a sweetheart deal and no jail. After our story, scores of other women came forward. Today, Feds indicted Hadden for sexually abusing dozens of female patients.
BIG NEWS: thanks to the courage of

I am SICK over how many hundreds of women suffered at his hands when Columbia should have taken action in ‘94 after multiple administrators received this 3pg detailed complaint of sexual assault. Inexcusable and CRIMINAL.

If you target massage parlors you are targeting Asian women. I appreciate all the supportive sentiment out there but let’s be clear in calling this what it is— a hate crime.
Captain Jay Baker with Cherokee Country Sheriff's Office said: "The suspect did take responsibility for the shootings. He said that early on, once we began the interviews with him. He claims that it was not racially motivated."
I can’t believe my eyes. To publish this racist disfiguration of
@AndrewYang
as a tourist, in NYC where I was born, where Andrew has lived for 25 years, where our boys were born, where 16% of us are Asian and anti-Asian hate is up 900%.
#StopAsianHate
This is disgusting and wrong. Every single day Asian Americans have to fight the notion that we are foreigners. We are here and we’re not going anywhere. That’s why AAPI representation like
@andrewyang
is so important. Do better
@NYDailyNews
I take offense to any notion that we “fled” the city. Andrew knew it was as important to fight Mitch as it was to fight Trump. We put our babies on a plane in the middle of COVID to fight in GA, raising millions and turning out votes. This all as private citizens, not electeds.
As I survivor, I know firsthand that harassment and abuse are allowed to continue when people look the other way. To the women who have come forward, thank you for your courage. It’s not an easy thing to share your experience. I see you, I believe you, and you are not alone.
In the hospital with Andrew where we had our babies. Andrew is doing well on meds, with the best care team ever. We are joking about how this kidney stone is our third baby. Apparently it’s the closest men can get to labor 😳. Thank you all for your well wishes 🙏
UPDATE:
@AndrewYang
has canceled all public events today. “After experiencing abdominal pain this morning, Andrew Yang visited an emergency room where he was diagnosed with what appears to be a kidney stone. He remains at the hospital with Evelyn.”
Me: “Dad lost the race”
Christopher: “This means we don’t have to move to the upper east side?”
Me: “Yes”
Christopher: “Yay! Can we go to dave and busters?”

Dr. King said the only way to end poverty is to do it DIRECTLY with a guaranteed minimum income. He believed that even the most well intentioned social welfare programs trying to tackle poverty indirectly simply miss the point.

You stood with Dr. King in Mt. Olive, we are counting on you to make sure all of the candidates tell us their plan to end poverty.

Celebrating today! Got a sitter and everything. 10 best years of my life and it’s all because of you Evelyn. You’re my best friend, the heart and backbone of our family and the most amazing person I have ever met. Thank you for inspiring me to be better every day. I love you.
GOP & Democrats are both coming to the same conclusion: Universal Basic Income is going to have to play a role in helping Americans weather this crisis.

The fetishization of Asian women is real. It lives at the intersection of race, misogyny, rape culture. When I shared that I was sexually assaulted, comments about “wanting his eggroll” didn’t escape me. It’s another barrier in our community to coming forward, another to healing.
For many Asian-American women, the suggestion that the Georgia gunman was motivated by racism or sexism, not both, fails to recognize their reality: the two have always been inextricably intertwined.
“Suddenly the parent is no longer just the dad or mom but also the teacher, therapist and aid all in one. What had previously taken an entire team, now has to somehow stay afloat. We need to be ready to forgive ourselves and let go of self-judgments”

Tomorrow, Friday 2/28 @ 12:30pm Foley Sq NYC. I will be speaking and standing with lawmakers and other survivors to support the Adult Survivors Act. Because we all deserve a pathway to justice.

Chinese-Americans have been blamed for the coronavirus, with a president who calls it the "Chinese virus." They have been spit on, yelled at and attacked. Many said they are terrified of what could come next.

Thank you to everyone who supported me and Evelyn in the campaign to help New York! Love to you all. It was truly a people-powered campaign that broke records along the way. Thanks for making history alongside us. There’s a long road ahead and I am looking forward. 👍🙏🚀

Yes bodegas ARE getting slicker. Grants from NYC’s SBS to “get businesses up to code so owners don’t get slapped with fines” come with gentrified aesthetic guidelines. I miss the character too, but these businesses ARE vital and need our support.

If you are adamantly pro-life then tell me you are also pro universal healthcare, maternity leave, housing and food security. Otherwise the hypocrisy is maddening. You will likely be the ones blaming the poor for being born.
We have the means to eradicate poverty here and a moral obligation to do so. This is NOT just a concern during the pandemic. ~1/3 of Americans incl children, veterans struggle with poverty. Let’s stop pretending they don’t exist. We need an income floor for everyone, yesterday.
Poverty in the U.S. may reach the highest level in half a century, according to researchers at Columbia University, and the rise is likely to affect black Americans and children the most
“Reacted badly to how his eyes are drawn?” Ok, you fixed how beady & slanted they are, yay. Ignore the fact that API leaders told you this “perpetual foreigner”racist trope is inciting violence against APIs being told to “go home” across the country. And you published it anyway.
Evelyn Yang said a New York Daily News cartoon of Andrew Yang is a “racist disfiguration.”
Here’s the response from Josh Greenman, NYDN editorial page editor: “This is not a racial stereotype or racist caricature.”
One way I think we can help combat maternal and infant mortality in NYC - both of which are unconscionably high in much of the city - dramatically expand the use of doulas and midwives. Doulas are the truth. Women help women.

1. Humans are more important than money.
2. Markets exist to serve our common goals and values.
3. We should be using human-based metrics to determine success, not money-based ones.
