Taiwan did not beat coronavirus because of Confucianism. Full stop. They are doing well because their Vice President is an epidemiologist with previous experience with SARS and they have a strong public health sector with an emergency command centre.

The crazy thing about this is there were rumours the mosque would be attacked by protesters. The protesters ended up joining mosque members to stand guard and it was later hit by police water cannon (with no one around).

If you haven’t seen the video of the #HK police water cannon truck spraying Kowloon Mosque with blue water (which is toxic). Police claimed this was ‘accidental’ but in the video, it looks deliberate. Police have a million & 1 ways of scoring own goals.

As a recent resident of Hong Kong it’s kind of frustrating watching US media praise the government for its response to coronavirus - it was really citizens who shut it down *in spite* of the government which was very slow to respond. It could have done a much better job.
