Many libraries in the US have moved to conflate DH with "digital publishing." This is part of the move towards Digital Scholarship units that collapse schol comm, DH, GIS and Research Data mostly for higher admin convenience. I think this is a fundamental mistake. 🧵

It's been 5 days since our amazing colleague @thedatarealist started working to produce 3D-print face shields for health workers. Now there's a team. 2 pro shops. A second batch just went out. Production ramping up. Networks coming in. All the 👏🏽 to Madiha. What a guiding light!

A. Césaire and CLR James were likely researching the Haitian Revolution around the same time at @laBnF in 1933–4. No indication they ever met. C'est mieux comme ça. I have fun imagining them going on recall wars with each other.
