It’s fun to be able to jump from Physical to Digital. I had a lot of fun doing the Industrial Design for
@Hyperice
flagship product, the Hypervolt. Also incredible to have
@SthlmDesignLab
do the branding informed heavily by the new line of products.

I was thinking that maybe in the future with really good external cameras on VR headsets you’d have pretty clean hand segmentation and volume reconstruction. Even though I don’t think hand wavy interactions are the future of VR, some interactions would be fun and interesting.
I'm not that active here but I really want to share this valuable information. Please read this thread if you want to use current and accesible technology to analyze and gain insights in the life of your autistic child. As the father of an autistic child and as an autistic...
Throwback with the old Oculus Design Team (2017, time flies)… I love working inside Design Studios… something about the collective passion… or the energy… who the fuck really knows…
This video by the Wall Street Journal goes behind-the-scenes at Anduril to show some of what makes our tech special, including the first public showing of the latest Lattice user-interface.
I did a short WWDC presentation where I share some of the thinking behind the design of the Dynamic Island, as well as a bunch of examples and pointers on how to design for it.
Check it out in the second half of this talk:
you will have to tweak with prompting and figure out way for it to understand your intent into python for native iOS, but it's pretty much like asking midjourney and trying to get the desired result.
Interesting behavior from a child using VR. He wanted to experience the same VR experience that happened to him near the door. For him, the VR experience was pinpointed to a physical location in the world. The glasses were truly a window to see a new world on top of this world.
Explorations on a VR/AR field maybe for use in a Guardian system a or to symbolize boundaries. Maybe with AR glasses in situations like the one now (COVID) you would be able to set a boundary or an area of comfortability and people would know which it is instead of assuming it.
I am completely comfortable with people being confused about what I do. I never signed up to make people understand what I do. I enjoy designing and that’s it, in its many forms, in its many ways.
Throwback when
@jisiguo
,
@d4ve
and I just bought some materials as Michael's, got together over dinner and did these pieces after watching the documentary "The Sketches of Frank Gehry"
Can you guess who did each one of them?
I love the Rick Rubin book! And I love the amount of care he showed by taking the time to read it himself on the audio book version (I have the printed version as well).
@RickRubin
respect.
I got to fucking meet one of my Design heroes today... shook his hand and everything... Man! I am truly blessed... 🙏🏼 They say never meet your heroes but this one DID NOT disappoint!
A lot of people don't know, but I am Autistic... I got diagnosed many years ago and I am incredibly blessed to be functional and I also learned to hide it well... so for those of you who might have an autistic friend, this is a great talk...

If anywhere in your profile or Website says you are:
“Inventing the Future”
“A disruptor / Innovator”
“Creating the future of…”
And other ballyhoo.
You’re probably the furthest from it
The people that are really doing it, are probably quietly doing it.

If you analyze each grocery item in your list by volume and for its structural rigidity. You could load your whole list into an app to tell you which items to buy first to put them at the bottom of your shopping cart. It would probably save bagging time.
@WholeFoods
Casting is a very important part of VR to make it a social experience. I’ve always wondered if, through a combination of pass through and computer vision you would be able to make it happen as fast as in this little demo. What do you think?
I hope this helps Share it with anybody that you feel this could benefit. Stay strong and All the love to you guy!
Thank you

@OpenAI
for such an incredible tool.
I made something useful (and fun!) in

- something that lets you see a mirror of your actions - live or with a delay, or save it to a GLTF file to share, or use in a 3D tool. Check it out at (in Quest/etc) and read on for some observations!
Congratulations to the whole
@PicoInteractive
Team and especially to Ennin Huang VP of Design... I am incredibly humbled to have had the opportunity to work with them on their next generation of VR interfaces! The future is bright!

High School drop out here. Work out a strategy of where you wanna be 5 years at the time. And you won’t to have a fancy portfolio to begin with but you will need to have one at least. “You don’t need to be great to get started but your need to get started to be great”
I have no way of knowing the nature or rate of these two functions (linear, quadratic, etc.), so It is hard to make a proper assessment for WHEN it will be a good time to capture.
preservation technology has made some incredible leaps, the battle against time is a hard one to beat. On the other side, scanning technology and data capturing technology are getting better with time(point cloud accuracy, optical sensors, etc.). Inevitably, you will end up with
What I DO think, is that these are beautiful times that show us that we are making a slow leap into the digital world. It would be nice to see open source files (a la sensory fusion) of beautiful artworks that will eventually die.
If you wait too long, there will eventually be less and less to capture. Still, you can also miss a higher level of detail with the appearance of newer technologies that will allow you to capture higher levels and more information that you couldn't capture before.
two inverse functions—the decreasing function of the deterioration of the painting, and the contrasting, increasing function of the advancement in scanning and data capturing technology.
This observation leads to the question. When will it be a good time to do a capture?

I agree sometimes as a designer you need to be trusted with the different parts of the aesthetic experience. The “it just looks cool” part is so you don’t have to give them a 30 minute class on design fundamentals.
With the rise of NFT Art's popularity, I have revived an idea I had many years ago, and that was recently sparked in my head by what Banksy did. Take a painting like the Mona Lisa, for example. The Monalisa will keep deteriorating with the years, and even though museum painting--
However, they could still maintain their rarity by having an entity hold the certificate. Probably a super nerdy rant, but I think it's good to get shit out of your head.
The mouth and lower part of the face account for a large percentage in the recognition of emotion in the human face. Kids born since the beginning of the mask mandates have received a much lower input of training data for emotional recognition.
Has anybody tried to render a point cloud of an animation from a CG package? I guess if you are Abel to do it you'd end up with something really close to what Nurulize did... I wonder how you'd bake spec (if you even do) since It's camera based...
...person myself, I sympathize with the hard work that it involves, there's a lot of sadness from not being able to understand your child, sometimes kids are even completely non verbal, so It is very hard to understand their needs
While not perfect this will give you some incredible insights into to understand your child a lot more I keep finessing this chart and of course on the template I have omitted private details but feel free to get a creative as you can with the questions...
