1. It’s not 1st time. I’d expect seasoned investment advisor to know that the big foreign debts eg SGR are paid twice a year, Jan and July. 2. Gross figures inclusive of domestic redemptions don’t tell you much about debt service burden. You are either ignorant or alarmist

Really surprised that someone misguided the President that delaying a payment of oil by 6 mons can affect forex rate, it cant. Only change in supply or demand of oil can. Even if delayed by 6 mons, the buyer has to start accumulating their dollars today.

I was telling some people instead of taking an insurance education policy just buy GoK treasury bonds with 10,15,20 years maturity dates depending on when your kid will go to high school or university. You'll get interest biannually and your money is there upon maturity.

Government is now paying 17% for 5 yr money. That means for private sector, assuming 2 to 3% risk premium, you have to pay 20%. Rates are climbing every week, the economy is worsening, shilling depreciates weekly, …at some point something will give in.
