What does low carb mean to you?

I thrive at around 50g per day. Some folks thrive at 5g. You need to test what works for you.
If you’re just starting I’d recommend doing 100g of carbs per day for the first month or two. Then
5 years ago:
I feel “off”. I’m going to make a doctor appointment to see what’s up. Here is how that went……
Doc: “Let’s run some blood test”
Me: “okay”
Doc: Looks at computer and enters notes. “Follow-up is in 2 weeks”
Me: “So, I have to feel off for two weeks?”
Doc:
I am at the point of not answering this question anymore:
Them: "How have you lost all the weight?"
Me: " I follow a low-carb style meal plan"
Them: "Like you just stay away from carbs"
Me: "No, I get some carbs from fruits"
Them: "What about veggies?"
Me: "No, I don't eat
Family recipe since 1917? Yep, I’m sure soybean oil has been used since 1917.
It is, I know that’s right. Is soybean oil a seed oil?

I open the fridge for lunch to grab a steak. I get it all prepared. Go outside to start the grill….
….i come back inside and the steak is gone! My dog ate the whole thing in 15 seconds. This is him feeling the shame.
Now I guess I’m fasting 😂😂

I’ve been spending time researching because I use to have “eye floaters” before I started this low carb way of
59 yrs old and a vegan. Just leaving this here for comments.
Is it possible that some folks can eat vegan and flourish?
Is it possible that some folks can eat meat and excel?
I have no idea, but this certainly puts things into question.
I invested in a meat grinder. It should pay for itself in a month by buying chuck roasts, tri-tips, picanha and brisket and breaking them down at home. Grinding will also up my burger game leaps and bounds.

Losing that last bit of fat is tough, but I’ll get there. The work is in the kitchen and I have plenty of energy on this low carb way of eating contrary to popular belief.
The next 4 weeks, I’ll increase my protein intake and add some additional walking.

Day 3 Update: No cottage cheese:
This is strange. I’ve been low carb for 6 years. Cottage cheese has been a staple in my fat loss, or at least I thought it was.
Day 3 results:
- no hunger. Zero
- no cravings. Zero
- slept like a baby
- mind is less busy (strange one)

Day 4 Update: No Cottage Cheese
Head scratching moment. I noticed that my body has released a lot of fluid (meaning I’m peeing a lot)
- slept great again.
- my energy is high all day
- zero cravings
- fasted 19 hrs without issue
- mind is calm
Overall, I feel very good.
My friends told a story yesterday when we had happy hour.
Them: Remember when you ate only ribeyes for a year?
Me: yes, I do (smiling)
Them: I’m surprised you haven’t had a heart attack yet (laughing)
Me: yeah, hahahaa. We all go from something.
Them: you eat weird stuff
Terrible picture but I see an abdominal muscle starting to peek out. Barely, but I haven’t seen my buddies here since my early 20’s and I’m 46 yrs old now.
I’ve done this by eating fat. By eating dense proteins. By moving my body just a little bit. Down 30lbs.

Day 6 Update: No Cottage Cheese
I don’t need to go any further. Cottage cheese is eliminated from my food.
Overall, here is what changed:
- lost 5lbs of fluid in 5 days
- stomach is flat
- mind is not busy
- hunger cravings are gone
- fasting is easier
- sleep is better
I remember my grandparents buying “I can’t believe it’s not butter”.
I can’t believe that they are allowed to market this as “heart healthy”.
Look at that ingredient list. This should be called Frankenstein butter.

I’m a steak snob!
Last night I had a wonderful porterhouse steak. It was 35 days dry aged and 18oz.
They cooked it in a broiler and then finished with beef tallow. It was delicious.
However….
……I can make a better steak at home for half the price.
Day 5 Update: No Cottage Cheese
Today, I think I’ve leveled out on fluids. Couple more things I’ve noticed:
- caffeine doesn’t affect me as much.
- my blood glucose is more stable
- I lost 5 lbs of water weight, which is shocking.
- I feel satiated all day.
- sleep is so
I’ve struggled with exercise induced panic attacks for years.
They are strange and had one today. I’ve circled in the image where the panic attack occurred.
I was lifting heavy, incline dumbbells, then finished a hard set, and immediately carried the weights to the rack about
