Amazing #UTMB stat I just looked up: Ludovic Pommeret ran an hour faster today than the year he won (2016). He’s 7 years older, ran significantly faster, and finished 4 spots lower. This sport!

You couldn’t draw it up any better. Last time the GOATs raced, Francios beat Kilian by 15mins at the 2017 UTMB. Now Kilian beats Francios by 15mins at the 2022 Hardrock. They continue to be in a category of their own. Absolute legends and true gentlemen. #HR100

"UTMF" is no longer name of 100 mile run around Mt. Fuji, to avoid dispute with UTMB Group, that filed opposition. The name "ULTRA-TRAIL Mt.FUJI" stays as same as before.

My Opinion: It’s bad for the sport to have Western States, Lavaredo, and the Mt. Blanc Marathon on the same weekend. Each race is world-class and represents a different disciple of trail running. They each deserve international attention without interference.

So Jim put 8 mins on Jared between Lyon Ridge (mile 10.3) and Dusty Corners (mile 38). The gap remains at 8 minutes more than 6hrs later. If Jim miscalculated even a little bit in the early miles, this will be a nail biter. Simply stellar athletes. #WS100
