X-Men ‘97 ain’t no kiddie cartoon. It’s a love letter to all those kids of the ‘90s who grew up on X-Men The Animated Series and discovered Marvel Comics in this era. The kids that the original show spoke to DIRECTLY and stuck with them. It’s beautiful.

X-Men ‘97 is straight 🔥. The original series and its successor have delivered the best goddamn comic book story adaptation experience into animated form. Live action productions pay attention: CHARACTERS FIRST. And placed in the hands of talent that love them to death.

Credit where credit is due. X-Men ‘97 is kicking down the door of your expectations (for better or worse) because of the efforts of that entire creative team but especially the vision of @BeauDemayo . Who probably loves X-Men TAS more than almost anyone I’ve ever encountered.

Remember that X-Men ‘97 was announced in 2021. Took roughly three years to bring us ten episodes. My hope is that the success of the show leads to the studio throwing more $ and resources at the production pipeline. Because nothing should be a bigger priority for D+ MCU content.

Shout out to Todd… This company managed to produce a 1:12 scale movie Batmobile vehicle (with features!) for under 70 bucks. Which by today’s standards is a bargain for a vehicle that goes with a 6” figure line. No crowdfunding. Not over $100. Deserves praise. 👏👏

Original X-Men The Animated Series cels gifted to me by show executive producer Joseph Calamari way back around ‘94. Met him during SDCC, asked about cels. His reply: “They are piling up in my office! I’ll send you a couple.” Jubilee with Gambit is from the EP1 mall scene.

This is unbelievable…Kenner Toys The Real Ghostbusters Fire House…unused! Ecto Plazm container is still factory sealed and can tell from shaking that it’s still in liquid form. Kenner Catalog list toys for ‘89 releases.

One of my favorite moments from the premiere was meeting Margaret Loesch. The FOX executive that made FOX KIDS and all those Saturday morning shows possible. Without her none of us would have these legacy shows from the ‘90s to remember. Told her I owe her my animation career!❤️
