AFCON '23 begins in 10 days!
I made a poster for the Super Eagles Yesterday.
I should be making matchday & lineup posters from the 13th till we lift the trophy on Feb 11.
P.S. It's Uncommissioned.
Let's do it Again!

Before I slept last night, I tried designing an unsolicited matchday poster for the Nigerian Super Eagles' AFCON Qualifying match slated for later today.
The stadium in the poster is the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, where the match will be played.

I visited a female friend last year and I saw this inscription on the wall in her kitchen😀. I got back from church today and decided to make it a poster.
The outdoor mockup is from
@NigerianMockups
. I made the Indoor kitchen mockup.

Before Nigeria's quarter final game against Ivory Coast at the 2013 AFCON, the NFF had arranged for the Super Eagles' return tickets, so sure the eagles would lose.
Keshi's boys silenced a naysaying NFF, won the match and eventually won the trophy.
Let's do it again✊🏽

While working on a brand identity design project earlier this year, this was one of the logo design iterations we had. I didn't want to leave it unused. So I came up with another brand name for it on Saturday and here it is. I made some merch and flyers for it too.
Last year, a fashion store owner wanted to build a brand identity for her store. She contacted me. I delivered on the visual identity and the verbal identity. I'm posting a fraction of the work, the Logo design, some mockups, and some social media marketing designs 1/2
A Prof. in OAU started a YouTube channel to teach English Literature.
I worked on the visual identity (logo, colours&type)
My friend,
@FolorunsoElijah
, worked on the Logo animation for the YouTube Intro. He shot and edited the videos on the channel too.
I tried out lettering design earlier this week.
One of my favourite lecturers when I was in OAU is donating food to OAU students currently writing exams.
He reached out to me to make the stickers for the food packs, with the caption 'You're doing your best and I'm proud of you'.
Around June, I Worked on the visual identity design (logo, type, colours, pattern & packaging) for Bukafale.
It's a business providing traditionally processed agricultural food products to people with Organic food preferences...
This was the less preferred iteration.
This was one of the last things I did in 2022.
My friend
@_walopemi
, an entrepreneur, produces really lovely fruit parfaits in Ile-Ife.
She urgently needed some form of 'branding' on her cups for a tradefair last year.
I delivered on a short notice, in time for the tradefair.
Jan 2023.
This was the first logo design work I did in the new year.
Tweaked the existing logo.
I was contracted by my friend from secondary school, now a music producer in the UK.
They loved it!

The Art Vs The Artist..
Postscript:
Interestingly, I had spent over an hour completing this smudge painting of myself in Adobe Photoshop before it dawned on me that I could have simply used Dawn AI 😄😄.
@AniahJay
Yeah he needs one.
But he can't even afford one. His education is self-sponsored. He couldn't even afford his school fees and a few other basic necessities before he was arrested by the EFCC.
I pass time on smudge painting at times.
I did and framed three this year.
One for myself, one for my dad. And one for a friend who got married; the most I've ever done in one year.
I do not offer this as a professional service though. It's often just a pastime.
This evening, I decided I would post some of the social media designs I worked on in the last two months on Behance. I did the cover design this evening too.

. Della,
@iamthedella
reached me to create the book cover and promotional poster for her book sometime in May/June. It was a book about self-identity, so I wanted to play with images to keep it 'on-theme'.

I applied for many design jobs early this year. Some got back and some didn't.
One of them, A B2B Tech Company in VI, Lagos gave me an assessment task: to brand a 'Tax Calculator App'. Brand naming, Logo & SM designs.

Perhaps because they needed something to justify the raid.
It would be too shamfeul for them to release everybody.
That would expose them for the charlatans they are.
So they had to arraign a few of them, just so their random raid and kidnap wouldn't look so random.
@walecoker65
@InibeheEffiong
That seems like the way forward.
But even then, there are limitations he may now have because of this malicious prosecution.
I think what we 'fear' in death isn't the fact that we merely become unconscious.
It's the fact that we become irreversibly separated from the people and endeavors that we love.
It could be scary if we truly love the things we love.
It's not quite same with sleep IMO.
These images are AI generated.
I tried Midjourney for the first time this morning and I was mind-blown. After generating art for a commissioned project, I had fun trying prompts for photos of an Ibadan Carpenter.👇🏽 These are actually not real humans.
June Dump.
The last slide was a little boost in traffic on my Behance page after I posted a Brand Identity Design case study a day before. You could view it here.

You weren't actually bypassing Intecu. You were logging out a legitimate user. It was very frustrating to buy the card then only to be "finged" out. I used it in 2016 though.
@PAUL_MONEY_1
They just packed random boys that night. Heard there was a roadside shawarma seller among them. One of my classmates from Uni, who now makes furniture and upholstery, who doesn't even live extravagantly was arrested as well.
I just 'redid' these social media designs on Monday though. The ones I did at the time last year aren't so nice anymore in my eyes😀. I also crafted the messaging and copy for each flyer

Dora Akunyili, as Minister for information around 2009/2010 embarked on this 'rebrand Naija' Campaign.
I only remember the tagline and the sounds, though.
"Nigeria, good People, great nation"
Nigeria had just been put on the UN terror watchlist then.
@Mrpossidez
I think it's like this for everyone. Being without activity makes life feel bland. Our lives are made up of routines. Tasks and struggles are what make our lives meaningful. To take these tasks away would feel weird until we find new hobbies or new things to 'struggle' with.
@jobosonchisa
Nice Stuff yeah...
I think they just soaked the old notes in water and waited for the colours to wash away.
Then, they brought it out and used a pressing iron to make it smooth again.
A Hero Comes Home!
Let's celebrate First Officer Remi Bamisile of Delta Airlines. His dream to fly a plane to 🇳🇬 was recently fulfilled. He's proud of his background and heritage.
See how he welcomed his passengers on the flight to Lagos on DL 54 from Atlanta to Lagos.

Got Procreate for the first time a few days ago and this was my second attempt at drawing with it.
Flowing of course from a YouTube Video.
The video is the Timelapse replay of my screen.

It appears you have more OAU students on your TL. I attended OAU but then, Every student in FUTA is taught to code. There are many mushroom tech startups from FUTA. There are fewer but bigger ones in OAU. Akure also has more techubs than Ife. Polls can't tell us these
I can't find any data anywhere to support Tariq's claims about the majority of native Americans being black or about how only a minute percentage of blacks in America were brought as slaves. The claims appear made-up.

I'm still thinking about Raven Bank's Brand Identity Design Case study that scattered my head last week.
The depth and the width were just so crazy. 💯💯💯
Gives me goose bumps
Nigeria has such a huge youth population that you'll probably get millions of hardworking and talented youth on one hand and also millions of talented but fraudulent youth on another hand. Don't generalize. And don't deny that any of these sides exist.
@theChrisDo
If it comes to choosing, then I'll choose to be needed. To be needed implies that I have some indispensably necessary value to offer. To be wanted but not needed, however, means that I'll stop being valuable as soon as people get enlightened, or tough decisions have to be made.
I had a short deadline, and I was working on another project for a client with a close deadline.
I delivered, and they said they "enjoyed" it.
We proceeded to interview on-site that week. I do not work for them today. But I'm posting the work here today.

Resources were pulled from the entire western region to build OAU back then. Oil money from the south-south is still being used to fund the university today. That should entitle all Yoruba, Itshekiri, Urhobo, Ijaw and Efik sons and daughters to the management of OAU.

If he has truly obtained money by false pretense, he wouldn't have been applying for a cleaning role with me just so he could pay his school fees, or begging for Garri from a Neighbour the night he was arrested. He's just a helpless lad in a mess of a country.
Two things that pain me right now: the mother's anguish and the fact that justice is not assured in Nigeria. The public authority for the BRTs is probably complicit too. Public Institutions have monopolized crime in Nigeria.

There's an episode explaining this in the "Color for Creatives" course by Chris Do's The Futur.
Its actually black and blue. Even though I see white and gold.
@Letter_to_Jack
Afonja was actually one Aare Ona Kakanfo in Yoruba history who was betrayed, due to his own 'foolishness'. The word doesn't really mean betrayer.
But it has always been used as an ethnic slur against Yorubas on Nairaland for many years.
Tariq also insisted that Foundational Black Americans helped all African immigrants migrate into America. When asked how, he said by paying taxes. That's not exclusive to FBAs. Whites & even Immigrants have also always paid taxes too.

Yeah sure. Here is not the court. But posting this here has helped secure legal services for the boy. That's a win. And it's despicable of you make the kind of allegation you have made in the last line. I think it reflects poorly on you.
