1) I faced a lot of resistance for speaking the truth. I'm glad it's all out in public today. The USMLE authorities have taken a decisive action. A small step towards a broader goal. Many ppl tried to silence me implying that I'm putting IMGs in danger. Was I?...

2) This only results in problems for low scorers and those who worked really hard but did not get access to leaked questions & managed to score 230s, 240s only.They are the real heroes for being honest! It's about time BIOPSIES (umbrella term for leaked questions) are discouraged
3) Also this doesn't mean all the High scorers do this. Some folks are geniuses and they'll always be ahead of others. It's just that the "biopsy" culture is become rampant and something needs to be done to honor those who take the exams with their real knowledge.

I agree. Home country experiences should be given a lot of importance. It's sad some ppl despite having postgraduate degrees from home countries have to rely on observerships in the US to get good US LORs and strengthen their application
@awsumpowers
@SeeFisch
A hardworking 220 is and should always be better than a cheating 270.
Let's not pretend scores are everything.
What about home country clinical experiences or even home country postgraduate degrees which are often ignored because the applicant didn't score much? Quite unfair tbh
5) I wish one day programs emphasize more on good doctors rather than strict high score cut offs/ability to mark 315 long questions correct In front of a Computer!Guess these criteria make dishonest ppl find out irregular means of achieving goals

2) I am more confident now. I made the right choice. We as IMGs need to step forward and discourage such practices. Raising a voice against them isn't bad. Staying silent and letting these cheaters Match is! Only centers in Nepal got exposed now, but...
3) We all know it's much bigger than that. I'm pretty sure if we all become a helping hand to USMLE, ECFMG and NBME, it'll only help them and help us. Speaking the truth has never harmed anyone in the long run.
Also,let's not bash or discriminate against a Nation.....
2) Is there any program who'll see me beyond scores or the scary bit of requiring Visa sponsorship?Most SOAP programs don't sponsor visas as per their websites.What should applicants like me do?
I repeat,Giving up isn't an option here

Thanks alot brother for supporting and actually, you're the one who's courageous enough to actually present statistics on this. Yes, you're right. It's just not practically possible to have so many high scorers in one specific region yet we have them.
@_azharsaid_
Everyone who has worked hard and scored whatever, should be proud of themselves. This world should be run by hardworking, genuine and honest people!
3) By writing weaknesses is scary, but probably a necessity in these times!
Someone should help! Someone should see through. Someone should Test and allow a chance! One chance to prove..

Ladies & gentleman. This is the ignorance i talk about. Right here.
She literally said "if someone has past papers with them what's the problem". Yes folks.
She thinks this illegal activity isn't a problem.
Don't need to say anything more here.
4) We all including our Nepali friends are together in this. We all should speak against these irregularities & point them out. Because these practices are rampant all around the world and stricter policies will discourage these ppl to eventually give up.....
All thanks to you
@NeuroAhmad
for presenting statistical data implying irregular behavior. Your tweet was quite helpful and supportive. It's all these voices including yours that have prompted the authorities to take some action. Hopefully people now believe us lol
@UroDhino
Thanks alot for this brother! I don't know why it's impossible for alot of these people. Maybe it's just denial? They don't wanna admit USMLE could've been prone to this?
I really didn't know so many ppl wouldn't know about this which is public knowledge as u can see online too
@Gorilla_plush_8
You're exactly right about everything.
It's not possible to remember each and every question. Hence multiple people are involved in recalls. Also, the question bank gets changed & that also hinders the plans of these test takers who cheat.
Regardless,it's happening very commonly
As an IMG, getting USCE and funding can be a huge challenge. these barriers prevent qualified doctors from entering the US healthcare system. We need more support for IMGs, including from US-based doctors who understand the value of diverse perspectives in medicine.

@mahad_minhas
Look at UK exams. PLAB and MRCP/MRCS are 5-6 hour long exams with 2 sessions of 3 hours each. Makes complete sense. Your knowledge would be tested. You get a break b/w sessions where you eat/freshen up to come back.
How's USMLE logical for 8-9 hours straight without any break?
1)Probably ECFMG or NBME are never going to find out how so many of the 250/260/270 scorers on USMLE step 1 and 2 exams did so because they memorized "leaked questions" well before taking their exams and got into highly competitive programs across the US

I passed my exams before all this too! Actually used to hear and see about it but always thought it's just a scam and never paid attention to it until I found out how organized they are. With so much discipline anybody could have tons of leaked qs
@VivPaps
Also, found many programs whose representatives have told people that they won't sponsor visas to IMGs, yet their websites state that they sponsor J1 visas for IMGs, persuading IMGs to apply to them 🤔
@gal_justpickone
Exactly. Im hearing about so many rejections for people solely going for observerships. It's a legal thing to do so why so many rejections?
What a strange world.
Some people are waiting to find out where or whether they match in a residency program,
While some are fighting to live just a little more in the midst of a war zone!
Such a contrast...

Yep . Have seen the scores of hardworking people Vs others. I can see the difference.
Not ignoring the hardworking folks out there who genuinely study from the right resources and take the exams with full honesty
Whenever I ask my fellow match applicants: "How's your match season going?"
Almost all of them reply with "It's been pretty slow!"

@SadiqNaveed
Also, "IMG residents who require visa" please....
If they aren't sponsoring visas, technically they're supporting only a selective pool of IMGs who have roots in the US someway or the other and not taking IMGs coming straight from their home countries.
@SainvalMd
System needs changes like the UK. Paid non-training positions should be open so every doctor can practice and when they get matched, they move to training.
@_ridamiable
Followed you because of the strength and dedication being showed in this tweet! You're definitely a warrior. Keep going and you'll do better than alot of them.

I'm proud of you Aida, it's people like you who deserve all the success in life. I have mentioned in my 3rd tweet about hardworking folks who genuinely score high through hardwork.
I'm only reporting what's common in alot of regions in the world! That doesn't mean all test takers
@Ramshaa97
Indeed that's bad but i believe most programs don't update their websites on a regular basis and so this program might as well consider home country experiences as an exception for this year cuz they'll recieve lots of applications with zero to minimum USCE
@MuznaSarfraz
Nbmes are through official channels. Anyone who's reading this knows this isn't about NBMEs. Even you know it but you'd like to pretend otherwise just so nobody knows the "open secret"
Simply go through a Google search to find out what's happening. I rest my case
@MuznaSarfraz
Will do. Thanks. Don't understand your unnecessary anger on something that's a truth, albeit a painful one i agree!
Sharing a truth doesn't mean I'm pointing fingers on anyone specific. If something happens it happens. We need to accept it without taking any offence
@urwah176
Agree with you. But it doesn't change the facts. Alot of "high scorers" aren't genuine high scorers. They got hands on leaked questions.
Offcourse that doesn't include all of the high scorers.

Brother its quite obvious I have hit the nerve. Most of the people know about this but are shouting only bcz "IMGs are gonna get exposed" or "you're badmouthing hardworking folks" when in reality I have specifically targeted cheaters.
All of them can search Facebook groups or...
@NalanYurtsever1
Exactly. This is something alot of people don't understand. These online social media groups and "library exchanges" aren't out in public for everyone. Yet is open to everyone. An irony to be precise but, that's how this is running
@JWorthy7
@ProjectImg
Exactly. I don't understand what the hype is about. Isn't it the same issue? I.e completion of two years of training after step 3. Essentially just one year shorter than the full 3 yr residency requirement
@Gorilla_plush_8
I guess them being international groups is the main reason.
But until they take the action, many more ppl would actually take the exams and score big, without anyone knowing about the reality.
Sad world
@AhmadRehanKhan
@abdulmoiz92
@u_hanitariq
Only CE (clinical experiences) should matter. Doesn't have to be USCE. People come from different countries in the world and their experiences aren't of any less importance. Also,Post graduate degrees from home countries should be given more importance.
It's good ERAS simply TELLS the candidates if they're matched or not and not OFFERS them to join like a typical workplace organization otherwise Procrastinators would just simply respond to the email after 4 weeks when the opportunity would've lost 🤦
