This is a Blender problem I frequently encounter. Vertices are weighted the wrong side and I can't seem to fix them. Fiddled with: "mirror vertex groups" on mirror modifier; "X mirror" in Weight Paint, recreating vertex groups, painting on opposite side, etc.
