Bearded men really disagree with my take here.
Also, that’s not what happened.
He rolled over, and I said good morning. Then I said, “There’s stuff in your beard. And there’s beardriff on your shirt.”
One year ago today,
@jasonkander
decided to stop his campaign, to stop ignoring the building symptoms, to stop just trying to make it through the day and instead focus on his mental and physical health.
It saved his life and I've never been more proud.
People who don't have small kids are reaching out to me, like “Hey, this is a great time to network. Send me some times for a zoom call!” And I respond:
Find something to fail at today. I’ve been trying to hold a handstand for over 1.5 years. This is attempt

. It’s going to happen by the end of the year. I just know it.

This situation is just appalling. I wonder if the

executives who oversee women’s March madness get paid 1/20th of their male March madness counterparts 🧐.
If you think the problem you need to solve is that your employees spend too much time in the bathroom, you are solving the wrong problem. This is likely to decrease their level of engagement even further because you are giving them signs that you don’t trust them.
BREAKING NEWS: Say goodbye to comfort breaks! New downward-tilting toilets are designed to become unbearable to sit on after five minutes. They say the main benefit is to employees in improved employee productivity.
People often ask me what I’m doing to raise a curious and innovative kid, and my response is, I’m just trying not to mess up the curiosity and innovative instincts that are already there.
I was meditating on the couch and True came up:
T: mom
T: mom
T: momma
T: mom
T: (whispers) mom
Me: what is it, True?
T: I can make fart noises with my nose!

Today marks the first day I was able to do a 10 second handstand. Unfortunately, I didn’t get video, but I’m in my enthusiasm to recreate it, I did record this gem. This is attempt 2,311.

Tell the Democrat Governors that “Mutiny On The Bounty” was one of my all time favorite movies. A good old fashioned mutiny every now and then is an exciting and invigorating thing to watch, especially when the mutineers need so much from the Captain. Too easy!
@JasonKander
I'd like to start a new tradition on October 2 each year, to stop something that's getting in the way of my own physical and mental well being. We start a lot of things in life, but we don't stop very many on purpose. Who's with me? What are you going to stop today?
Thirty attempts later, on attempt number 1,112 I did my first official handstand. I could hardly believe it was happening. This is only the beginning. Thanks so much for all the suggestions and support!

This is attempt no. 1,025. You could say this is failure 1,025 and you would be right. But I’m not discouraged. Far from it. I know that if you want better results, you just need to ask better questions. That’s what’s going to get me across the finish line.

6 seconds! This is week 86. It’s taking way longer than I thought but I’m close to my 10 second goal. I keep posting these here so that I won’t quit at good enough and will keep working to hit my goal through the accountability I have with all of you :). This is attempt 2,397.
I have a new tool for handstands. The wall was too much of a crutch so we created a support that has give. Lesson learned: don’t just do the same thing you’ve been doing if you want different results. Iterate your approach to continue growing and improving.

After every speaking engagement, I play a fun game with myself and try to find the Pirates Booty in the airport. It’s rare enough that the search gets me walking all over the place. It’s like my own little treasure hunt.
I love books. And I’ve been discovering more and more books written 10, 30, even 50 years ago that are incredibly impactful.
I tried finding a list of the greatest Life Changing books of all time, and after spending several weeks trying with no luck, I’ve decided to create one!
For the last 5 years I’ve dreamed of hosting a podcast for professional women. About 9 months ago, I put together a proposal and pitched it to a number of media companies. And today, my dream became a reality. It would mean so much if you checked it out!
Tony Hsieh was so kind and creative and a man of so many skills. I once gifted him a rubix cube, watched him open the box and solve it within a few minutes.
My best memory is that I was the one to first show him this music video.

They admit no wrong doing.
No transparency and no remorse is just a recipe for this story to repeat itself.
Somewhere in San Antonio yesterday, I lost my winter jacket 🤦🏻♀️. I called
@JasonKander
to apologize for judging him 6 years ago when he lost his jacket on a trip.
He said it might be the longest he’s ever had to wait for an apology from me, but he happily accepted.
Wish me luck! I usually don’t like to go outside if it’s under 70 because I get cold so easily, but it it’s in the high 50s today and I’m attempting my first ever outside run “in the cold” with Talia. I probably have way too many layers on but here goes nothing.
I think I may have set a new record for attempts in one day. I would should you the funny ones where I hurt myself, but True was in charge of the camera and we lost those takes 😂. Attempt 1,313.
I want to create a Rockstar Mom award to give to moms at the airport. Just a certain something to let them know they are doing a really great job even though it feels like pandemonium. What do you think? Is it a card? Something else?
My last handstand attempt of 2018. I didn’t quite make it to my goal but there’s no reason I can’t give myself an extra year to accomplish this awesome challenge.

Who’s with me?
This is the most important episode I’ve ever recorded. I didn’t think shame was a topic I even needed to know much about and then I learned how it is the single greatest obstacle standing in the way of our goals and our relationships.

Resources often times stifle our creativity and innovation. They make us comfortable and unwilling to take risks because we might jeopardize all those resources. If you want to create something amazing, start by creating some constraints.
