In #Monero the original founders (then #Bytecoin ) were anonymous, and after forking, the majority of the Monero core devs have been anonymous. Their value proposition is privacy, and it is mandatory. That's pretty much as cypherpunk as you can get.

Biggest hold-ups for understanding crypto: - Not getting the importance of censorship-resistance - Not getting the relationship b/t decentralization & censorship/control/security/scalability - Thinking money must have some inherent value

I used to think it was really strange that mainstream economists were so dismissive of #Bitcoin . Over time I've slowly realized the major employers of economists (finance and govt) benefit greatly from central banking and want to keep things that way.

@leekern13 My favorite opinions so far come from very woke students at elite universities, BLM, and Muslims who have very strong anti-Israel opinions but can't seem to find the issue with Hamas deliberately killing civilians.

Finding Bitcoin maximalism bc you lost $ in altcoins is pretty weak conviction. It's like saying you found religion on your deathbed. Authentic conviction in an idea doesn't come from a place of convenience or something as inconsequential as market speculation.

The number of people who actually know what they're doing in cryptography and are also working on #bcash is zero. Literally zero.

In software engineering, there's a concept called technical debt. Over time the code base becomes unreadable, unmanageable, with undocumented behavior. Pretty sure this is going to happen to most crypto projects in 5 yrs.

Bitcoin is such a low-level technology it's analogous to: - operating systems for computers/tablets/phones - TCP/IP for the internet - Satellites for GPS - 3G for mobile networks - web servers for a website - number theory for public key cryptography - electricity for lighting
