When I tried using templates, I ended up writing the entire cover letter myself (with my own structure) because they kinda didn't allow me to say everything I wanted to talk about. I had so much to put in.
So, I'd say I didn't really use templates - cos I noticed I had some

PERSONAL STRATEGIES THAT GOT ME 7 OFFERS IN 7 DAYS
I'm putting this out here with the hope that my little practices would be helpful for someone out there looking for an offer.
Here are some things I did that helped me in my growth:
I said I'll share my personal strategies for bagging roles, but the thread is already too long - even for me to read - so be closing it here. π
I will make another posts soon to share these strategies. So go ahead and follow me, then turn on my notifications so you won't miss
4. Visited the companies physically:
At this point, I was getting fraustrated because I wasn't satisfied with the the kind of offers I got. I knew what my application worths. I felt like all the recruiters were ignoring my emails, so I took it upon myself to actually pay these

Last month, I met A TON of Unilorin students at a popular financial firm in Lagos. We were shortlisted to participate in a physical assessment for an internship with the company.
I was very intrigued to see them in Lagos because Unilorin was still in session (I'm on IT).

I asked 6 colleagues to help review the submissions on this post and revert with their top 2 each. Five of them returned Unilorin law students in 8 of the 10 spots available to them and none of the 5 colleagues attended the school.

1) Interns are valued:
We're usually treated with the same regard as full-time employees, giving us a sense of belonging and confidence to approach work.
2. Applied directly via the company's Careers Page:
Most (big) companies have a "Careers" or "Join Us" page on their website where they list current openings. Be sure to bookmark and check them regularly. The button/link is usually found on the footer section or the nav bar.
(I know this is very longπ We're almost done! π)
Now it was time for me to send rejection emails π
I never thought I would be in this situation in life. Me? Sending rejection emails??? Nahhh!

Funny thing is- I won't demand an outrageous amount if it's a big tech company that I know I'll getting crazy experience from.
So my answer to this question would be "It depends on the company".
If it's a growing (startup) company that really needs my service, ofc. I'll demand
5. Used my network:
I'm putting this last because I'm usually not a fan of nepotism (getting jobs through connects) cos I prefer earning opportunities on my own merit. But at this point, I was already giving up so I had to humble myself and go all in cos time was running out!
I

2) Inclusive culture:
Everyone greets each other. Someone can literally come to your desk just to reach for a handshake and say 'Hi'. I find it really interesting because I don't greet strangers a lot, but Sterling has made me change that habit.
3) Young staffs:
Many departments are filled with Gen-Z employees, surprisingly π€. I love this particularly because it's easier to engage in meaningful conversations, plus, it creates a very comfortable atmosphere.
5) Free time:
Interns often have a lot of free time, but it depends on your drive. You can request more work (you'll always get it if you ask), or use the free time for another productive things. I balance tasks with my other remote gigs, so I'm never actually free. π
I know y'all are already tired of seeing my updates from
