Another part of this movie that always gets me is just how much grief Lilo is carrying. She says to Stitch is “If you want to leave, you can. I’ll remember you though. I remember everyone that leaves.” Like, that line still fucks me up, I think about it ALL the time.

My eating habits are disordered, & it’s fine to get the “DeeSoul, omg you need to eat something!” but sometimes I CANT bring myself to do it! But a friend told me “I’m proud of you” when I told them I ordered food and I teared up a bit. It was just nice. I promise I’m trying!

I have periodically used the Poetry Foundation’s Poetry & Practice learning prompts to give myself exercises. As I was going through the learning prompts, I noticed they had an article, published on June 30th, 2022, titled “Strange Fruit.”

I tell folks all the time I am only doing the MFA because I want to teach and it’s considered the terminal degree. There are SO many ways outside of the MFA to be a writer, and many of my favorite writers don’t have one!! (Many of my least favorite writers do!)
