Can’t emphasize enough how good the boss visuals are in first DF raid. I’m watching people go in there with no mods still easily doing fights off the visual clues alone. Clear outlines, clear arrows, colors that are not clashing with environment. Keep this up @WarcraftDevs

This timewalking event is basically how it should stay permanently. It’s what I’ve said a long time. Timewalking should always be up and separated from regular weekly rotation now that there are enough of them for TW to have it’s own rotation. Make it perminant @WarcraftDevs

Based on stats, only about 12% of users who have DBM installed, have DBM Dungeons installed. If you are doing M0s or M+ next week, you are missing out on dungeon support unless you install the DBM Dungeons collection of 5 man content mods, available in all usual places. #Warcraft

Noticed game performance gets worse over time? 10.0.5 introduced a pretty nasty memory leak in the UI code. It doesn’t seem to be reclaiming memory correctly (garbage collect), especially in blizzards own frames. Your UI might suck up 2+ gigs of memory within 30 minutes

Half of stuff I add to DBM, is to fix a visibility issue. you don’t need a big alert that says “debuff” on you in final fantasy because it actually telegraphs everything so well. Wow be like “here is a blue circle that matches zone floor color”

An hour ago blizzard put out a hotfix to disable apis used for interact distance between players. As such, the range checker will no longer be possible and will be deleted from DBM shortly. Several bosses also used distance calculations to filter warnings, this will no longer be

This also proves definitively that nothing matters to players more than their dps/healing meters. They might stand in the fire, and wipe the raid, but they’ll have good numbers doing it :D

DBM is set to drop below even being sustainable as full time work starting next month (it’s already been iffy for a while now). Can blame state of shadowlands and recent state of blizzard. Can’t really blame users being unhappy with game, or blizzard, or bobby. Do what you feel.

Some people take christmas off, I work on the dungeon mods and push an update out. Would have been twice as long but PC crashed at end of dungeons and lost half of runs transcriptor logs. At least two more RP timers were planned. Many more M+ updates next week! #Warcraft

You may have noticed suddenly a lot of addons (including DBM) suddenly throw action forbidden/blocked errors since earlier this week. This is due to blizzard doing an emergency patch to break interrupt macros that automated gameplay. Sadly, it was quick and dirty and broke more

Blizzard stole my idea! In latest alpha build, doing “/countdown 10” now triggers a pull timer, using blizzards countdown interface for pvp/mythic+. They Probably never imagined it being used that way til DBM hacked (kinda literally) their api to use it that way.

DBM 9.0.23 Released for retail wow. This is a VERY important update that addresses timer errors and freezes when used in conjunction with the @WeakAuras It is HIGHLY recommended you get updated DBM ASAP and if you do use Weak Auras, their update too. #Warcraft

I'm already hearing false rumors that 10.2 WAs will not work with DBM. That's actually false and in fact thanks to work done by @WeakAuras team, as well as most WA devs (already confirmed with echo and liquid WA devs), most WAs in 10.2 will use universal callback

Miss old minimap options, especially seeing TARGET dot on minimap when you target an npc? /console minimapTrackingShowAll 1 This is another case of blizzard trying to simplify UI but in doing so actually making it worse. You’ll get all hidden tracking option back #Warcraft

I think the raid did a pretty good job using visuals that are easy to see, but M+ is still in a bad spot, especially when reusing older zones that were less worried about being able to see attacks and more worried about matching them to zone aethetics to point they’re invisible

@WeakAuras jarring to users too. addons suddenly spamming excessive lua errors in combat and requiring literally unpaid overtime to issue emergency updates because we're the ones getting spammed with complaints while they suffer through errors til we can do so (and it's not a quick update)

After nearly 5 years, after buying the rights back to DBM from MGI (but having them fail to transfer the original trademark), DBM is once again a recognized trademark Had to wait 4 years for OG trademark to expire, then another year for the new process.

It looks like this week blizzard changed the way CHAT_MSG_ADDON works. Prior to this week, the api would send the full name of sender of communication. name-realmname. as of this reset, it only sends player name across PARTY and RAID comms. this broke all cross realm comms in DBM

@saurus_steggy It wasn't really a targeted attack at DBM and more some WA someone in the RWF was cooking. To be honest, I've been ready for removal of range check since 2018 when blizzard told me they'd eventually remove the bug that allowed it. Guess they decided today is finally that day.

Going into S2, and for S1 if for whats left of it, you can test a collaboration feature with plater that automatically integrates DBM M+ trash timers right into plater nameplates for clean automation of seeing notable trash mob ability cooldown timers right on nameplates

The amount of users who are reporting DBM doesn’t work on wrath (because they didn’t update it for the breaking patch on friday) is strongly making me consider making force updates far more strict. Updates are released for a reason. Stop ignoring them or i’ll remove that option.

I've fixed everything except for igira. that's more tricky since blizzard omitted phase changes from combat log so public logs are useless. Also been at it all night so will probably take a 3-4 hour nap since been up 26 hours now.

Another DBM - Dungeons update with final round of Season 2 updates, with lots of focus on arguably the worst 3 instances of season, Legacy of Tyr, Halls of Infusion, and Neltharius. These a LOT of work as gone into these to prep you for S2 M+. More than any other season to date

Trying to fix incorp timer and it’s tricky. 2 issues 1. timer is either 45 or 90, randomly 2. timer pauses out of combat, but spiteful doesn’t count as in combat..except the api returns true to incombat if shades are up soo…yeah I’ll be releasing a timer soon, but not perfect

Last night, blizzard released the anticipated hotfix patch to re-enable distance checks against enemy units in combat. This allowed re-enabling smart alert filtering on 6 raid bosses in dragonflight alone (and many more across the game) As such. 10.2.11 is now released #Warcraft

BTW, despite fact Liquid weak aura pack lists BW dependency , it is in fact using the "boss mod" universal callbacks and should work just fine with DBM as well. Same as all the other top packs out there. Still seeing many not realize this. If you want to use BW I'm all for it,

With world first race over, I spent Christmas cleaning out every classic DBM bug report/request from ticket queue then pushed a new release. This includes new timers for gluth fear and loathab remove curse, and some fixes. This new release is DBM-Classic 1.13.64 #Warcraft

New Feature in testing, Bonus Roll Filter Lets you configure a loot threshold you want to ignore and DBM will automatically hide the bonus roll prompt. In addition, if you change your mind within 3 minutes of suppressing prompt, DBM still lets you manually call it up. #Warcraft

Blizzard made an undocumented api change that broke a lot of things. As such, a forced update (10.2.2) is going out shortly. the api change was that the combat log now attaches realm name to players who are NOT off realm, breaking several assumptions in various functions

@WarcraftDevs That said, still room to improve. I’m seeing trash not getting same visual emphasis as bosses for example. M+ for example can still be visually noisy and have shockwaves/etc not greatest in world to see. Don’t just apply this emphasis to bosses, do trash too.

@AimlessStudent @methodnnoggie @habitsxd @LimitGuild A big thing too is I’m US based, like Limit. a big factor is that limit wants someone who’s working on mods on same schedule as them. Not on an EU schedule. There is no shade in that. It’s just basic logistics.

Thanks to @imperative_gg for some help, I was able to do some much needed QA to squash just a few bugs. Mostly in regard to tank role specific issues. DBM 10.0.14 released. #Warcraft

Having to do Naxx and Nathria back to back is going to be VERY busy. Probably going to be 70 hour weeks for 4 weeks straight. Multiple streams on screen, providing support on discord, and fixing/updating mods at a fast pace, all while leveling multiple of my own test characters

When you finish manually pruning all invalid pledges that have accumulated. PS, dbm can always use more supporters, vs letting only a few do the lifting. A lot giving a little, vs a few giving a lot. DBM used by a million+. Leverage those numbers by throwing as little as $1

Regardless of who wins. I hope one thing is made very clear by this race (and Nyalotha before it). @deadlybossmods and @BigWigsWoW and @WeakAuras all win. Fights this complex wouldn’t be possible without them. We inspire blizzard, who inspires us, who then inspires blizz, etc.

This is a big deal for future tiers. Won't help too much with this one though. Right now in Aberus WA packs, there is 1 WA that supports only DBM, like 3 that support only BW, and only 1 that supports both. (all at desecration of auras creator and effort they put into it) For

It’s frustrating that 4 bosses this tier are going to have crappy timers do to trifectas of spell queuing, phase change interference, and variable cooldowns. KT, Nerzhul, Guardian, and Soulrender. I’ll do best I can with them but for most part timers won’t be great on them. :\

DBM still needs support. Several people have left WoW and support has dropped a lot. If you can spare even a dollar a month, it helps.

@ColiverXYZ @LimitGuild Anything using limit private data, was always held back until either a 2nd guild killed it, or race is over. This is the standard in general. @Justw8 does the same.. By no means did this have affect on ANYONE ELSE other than echo and limit.

Leak doesn’t always happen, and haven’t find exact cause, other than once leak starts, it’s corrected by /reload . You can usually tell it’s happening because client will start to micro hitch every few seconds that are normally smooth.

Going on 36 hours awake now, but work continues to deliver rapid updates. Next update should be ready in a few more hours once i finish processing through 2 more vods and manually time-stamping every boss event, putting into spreadsheet and diffing the times for mythic timers.

Reddit made a request, someone pinged me in thread, it got done. Now in DBM alpha Also, DBM registers the sound into sharedmedia, so DBM actually makes it available to other mods too (if they use LSM) #Warcraft

@WeakAuras My favorite part is email I sent them listing 6 work arounds right out the gate to them in march 2023. many months before even PTR testing. Then when PTR testing started found a 7th way and then notified them a again. I gave them 7 easy work arounds, and potential solutions.
