The Pilavachi situation is a perfect example of how the “never criticize a leader” culture of HTB is so dangerous. Without smaller criticisms being acknowledged, bigger ones go unchecked. It cultivates a culture ripe for abuses. A culture without criticism is one without truth.

I mentioned @htbchurch in a tweet a few years ago and the same thing happened. Leaders from HTB messaged me privately to silence things. I don’t know what’s more frightening, that this may be co-ordinated or that leaders are programmed to react to protect the mothership.

Women were treated as emotional, unknowable creatures. Many of those who were most vocal at the time against Mike were women and they were routinely shut down and dismissed and often blamed themselves for the damage that Mike was causing.
