Ex Radio/TV football commentator, 50 years a Burton Albion fan, charity Q&A host and fundraiser, Husband, Dad and Grandad, like a laugh, live life to the full.
Nigel Clough is a legend, and the greatest manager Burton Albion ever had, from the depths of non- league to the championship he represented our club in a most professional manner. Always success on a budget, brilliant, Thanks for the memories Nigel and good luck 👍
UNBELIEVABLE night in the history of Burton Albion. ....the last 4 of a major cup competition and a deserved win after a brilliant team performance. ..... very proud to be Brewer tonight as well make the long trip home
Have we just witnessed a massive turning point in Burton Albion's season, terrific performance against one of the best teams in the league, commitment, energy and organisation with a moment of class from Jonny Smith for the win, 3 points and a clean sheet .
.....just a quick mention for our chairman Ben Robinson, what great support he is giving our manager
@Dino_Maamria
in backing him to build what I believe is looking like one of our best squads for many years 👏👏👏👏👏
My Sunday night is complete! a call from my son in law has confirmed the arrival of TWO new family members, YES the TWINS have arrived ......I'm a grandad again!!!!! Wheeeeeee 😀😁.....it a boy and a girl .....
Burton Albion fans have been here before, admiring a squad in readiness for the new season........but I genuinely believe we are looking at something special this time, youth, experience, talent. It looks REALLY EXCITING.....we will be seriously competitive this season.
Let's put this on record AGAIN, massive thanks to Ben Robinson, incredible 50 years associated with Burton Albion.....what memories and achievements you have made. Thank you 👏👏👏👏
Dreadful game today at the pirelli, two poor sides with a lack of quality sharing the points. The 13 min show of respect for Hussein Quig-Diop, magnificent,thanks to referee Ollie Yates who stopped the game and appaulded as well, Mr Yates, man of the match for me...👍
Tonight at the Etihad I shall spare a thought for my Dad who is sadly no longer with us, I'm sure Nigel Clough will as well, as his Dad, Brian, died on the same day, 20th September 2004, you fellas have missed so much, but they will be there tonight in spirit. ..miss you x
Very sad day in my home town of Burton on trent, a man fell to his death from a bridge above the A38,dreadful ending for his life, and for the driver that stuck him, horrendous memory to live with. Life is full of problems, many are never spoken of or solved.
The Burton bridge is making steady progress and giving up some of its hidden treasures. ........the original tram lines are there for all to see once more.
The perfect day to tell the football world about my wonderful team Burton Albion, and our achievements so far this season. Once a fan, always a fan, your team, your town
#proud
Another amazing charity Q&A last night with Damien McCrory and Ben Turner, massive thanks to the guys and to the loyal generous audience that support my events ,proud to reveal a RECORD BREAKING total of £1630 was raised for
@StGilesHospice
...thank you x
Oh Jimmy Jimmy......a WIN , 3 points, a clean sheet, our first away win ......brilliant defensive performance, well organised,
@HaydenCarter06
MOM very closely followed by Ben Garratt, well done boys....
When Kyle Mc Fadzean and then Jamie Allen left the Brewers many fans were unhappy...both good players. BUT both replaced with quality signings, JJ O'Toole and Ryan Edward's are a pleasure to watch....Nigel Clough, just doing his job, and doing it well.👍
Unbelievable night, up to 18th, not at our best but hardworking and effective, 3 pts a clean sheet and the revival continues..... I'm beginning to love this weird season, and my new favourite player
@JonnySmith_11
scored the winner with a beauty!!!
Just simply a brilliant week for the Brewers, Forest were chopped down on Tuesday and at Walsall today a proper fireworks display from the boys, some lovely football, goals and a few crazy moments, but a terrific away trip makes it a great weekend
#BAFCandProud
Very proud and pleased to announce our charity night..an evening with LUCAS AKINS & DARREN WASSALL raised £2685 which will divided equally between our two local charities: Burton YMCA and the Burton RSPCA at Hillfield, Stretton.
Amid the floodlight chaos tonight Burton Albion illuminated the pirelli stadium with a brilliant performance. To a man the Brewers were excellent, at times footballing the premier league team to death! another page in the history book and another special Albion night.
In all my years of following Burton Albion I have never known such a huge outcry from the fans for the removal of the manager......the fans are the heartbeat of the club, the Brewers are suffering....enough is enough, do the right thing Jimmy.....please
Fabulous afternoon for the Brewers, always the better team, Macca, solid in goal and the youngsters, Ashworth, Moon, Taylor, quality. Sam Hughes was immense, in fact there wasn't a player in a yellow shirt that didn't put a shift in, 3pts 2goals a clean sheet,enjoyed that 👏👏👏
Aside from the doom and gloom which currently hangs over the Brewers after our awful start to the season is a brilliant bright new light in the form of GASSAN AHADME, his work ethic and application has been exceptional. Join the fan club...hit the " like " button.
Very proud of the Brewers this afternoon, great performance, deserved win, and clearly the better team. Nice finish to our home fixtures , professional and respectful in showing maximum effort against the top teams......but what a good team we look at the moment
#proud
It's another of the BIG nights at the Pirelli, a magnificent performance by the boys, very proud to be a Brewer as we write another page in the history of our wonderful club.
Fabulous afternoon at the pirelli today, great win for the Brewers, a little bit of everything, 3 pts, 4 goals, entertaining, yellow & red cards, average ref, brilliant Joe Powell strike and deserved goal for Kwadwo Baah, up to 9th and above the great pretenders DCFC, great day .
....was that an embarrassment or a privilege last night ? .....an absolute PRIVILEGE. ......really, really tough for the boys when you are playing a team with such a ridiculous amount of quality. ....oh and
@MarcusHarness
you should have scored mate, so make up for it Saturday .
Terrific team performance AGAIN from the Brewers, thoroughly deserved, took our chances, defended as a unit and looked a threat on the break....Great 3 pts, happy weekend Brewers fans 👏👏👏
Wow, the morning after the night before, what a super transfer window the Brewers have had, some really good signings, all with the right attitude and determination, some with a point to prove and the younger guys ready to test themselves....over to you
@Dino_Maamria
...the afternoon, after the afternoon before. ......disappointing we are down .....but that was an incredible afternoon. The best atmosphere and support at an away ground for a long time .....or EVER, it was brilliant, the fans were magnificent, a credit to the club
#proud
Absolutely the least we deserved this afternoon, effort, determination and character...AGAIN....the good thing is , the players and the fans are on the same page. Plymouth were decent but the Brewers wanted it more at the end.......Great picture.....
Burton Albion are actually very good at this " last game of the season " thing, Torquay, Conference. Cambridge, league 2. Doncaster, league 1. ....and now Preston , only new thing would be celebrating staying up on the last day. Can't wait ......let's get behind the boys
#coyb
Wow, classic case of win ugly for the Brewers tonight, took our goal chance and defended very well against a very good MK Don's outfit. A win is a win ....6th in the table, thank you very much!
...whilst we enjoy our Saturday evening after the Brewers win, and praise for the players, let's not forget
@JoeSbarra1
who until he went off injured was having a terrific game ......well done young man 👍
Very pleased to announce our " evening with " BILLY KEE and DAN ROBINSON raised £2850 for MIND Burton, a massive thank you to everyone for their support in achieving this impressive total. 👏👏👏👏
Great cup tie at the Pirelli tonight, terrific performance from the Brewers. ....pride restored, at the very least deserved a draw, but wasn't to be. Very proud of the team and our magnificent cup run.
Terrific three points for the Brewers today, at last or should I say again the Pirelli stadium is a tough place for visiting teams to come to, good team performance and great backing from the fans ......need to keep going forward now
#coyb
A miserable afternoon, an awful referee, a dreadful Shrewsbury team but a brilliant 3 points for the Brewers, won by determination and effort. Bucko, Ben, and Marcus made a difference from the bench when we needed it, a solid team effort. A great start to the festive fixtures.
Fantastic night with BILLY KEE and DAN ROBINSON raising funds for MIND Burton ......awesome crowd, brilliant stories, terrific entertainment.........announcing our donation total later today 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, what an afternoon of entertainment, Burton Albion never fail to deliver, a bit of everything in this match, 2 down, win 4-3 against 10 men ....and we were still nervous till the final whistle.....brilliant day, happy new year!😀🏐👍
Today on the 20th anniversary of Nigel Clough's first appointment let ALL Brewers fans acknowledge his incredible achievements at the club. The non- league days were brilliant, and the Football league beyond dreams. We the fans have enjoyed the journey. ...thanks Nigel ❤👍
@burtonalbionfc
absolutely top performance from the Brewers, took Donnys best efforts in the first half, blew Rovers away after the break, 3 goals, 3 points, clean sheet, up to 17th, 51 points, I believe the great escape imo is there.👏👏
Quite strange really, the Brewers popularity, Luton loved us when we beat Barnsley, the Tykes love us tonight for beating Luton, Portsmouth were lucky sods and Sunderland will never love us because we relegated them last season .....we just love our football at the moment
#coyb
Play with 3 forwards and you've always got a chance, absolutely top effort from the boys....and the 12th man, you supporters were absolutely bloody brilliant.....that for me made the difference, especially towards the end.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
.....and this is why we had a bigger scoreboard. ....just in case you still can't see it, it says 3-1 to the Brewers. !!!.......the perfect end to a lovely sunny day.
Sir Lucas Akins. ......took the piss today .....Billy Kee knocks a penalty in, then Lucas seals the record from the same spot, and sticks in another even better one .....because he can. Sir Lucas Akins, true Brewer.
.......apparently Burton sent a spy to watch Manchester City training, waste of time ......poor fella is still recovering. .....had his mind blown! as we did on Wednesday 😂
What a lovely afternoon, brilliant result first the Brewers, Quinn's goal very special, what a shift from Templeton, deserved goal, so many good performances. Have to say 3-0 was flattering, Wimbledon's finishing was awful and we had a bit of luck for a change.
What a terrific match this afternoon, and a deserved win for the Brewers, we really do look a decent team now but need to be consistent week in week out. Great team performance and in a week dominated by goalkeeper talk
@bradcollins5
had his best game for me in a Burton shirt 👍
Another of those memorable nights at the Pirelli tonight, great performance by the team to a man, all about effort and togetherness, for those of us that were there, wow, what a night! and if you didn't go .......oh, missed out on a big moment 👍
Embarrassing, 9 without a win, Martin Paterson has to go, NOW. To have any chance of getting results from our final 4 games we have to do it without him, time for action not reflection before we get relegated, if he's not damaged us beyond repair already.
Brilliant result for the Brewers, we looked a really decent side tonight, and a couple of bits of history, a rare Jake Buxton goal and a terrific first hatrick for Scotty Fraser......well done boys
#BAFC
So Burton Albion's season is officially over, best described as disappointing, Nigel has moved on and Jake Buxton is our new man to hopefully freshen things up and bring new ideas .Jake needs to have a blank canvas, ideally without Nigels old coaching staff.
#freshstart
Burton Albion's pre season is looking very encouraging to say the least, already we look organised, held TWO Leicester city starting 11s and then actually had the nerve to enjoy and WIN a penalty shoot out.
#COYB
I understand it's all about opinion but Steve Seddon does not deserve some of the crap that's levelled at him, he is putting in good shifts right now, Jake Caprice is my worry, that's why we have signed Tolaji Bola surely.
Match day, this is what it's all about, yes, we have been disappointed with the player departures, yes, we are disappointed with the lack of new signings, BUT, this is where the support for the Brewers starts, the XI wearing yellow shirt will get my backing, will they get YOURS
Wow, massive result for the Brewers, not the best game but a terrific win and OUT of the drop zone for the first time this season......Great finish to the year.....well done guys 👍
Everyone is stats daft these days, Burton's stats against Exeter yesterday were awful, possession 29% to City's 71, the Grecians made twice as many passes and bettered the Brewers on almost everything, except the most important stat of all, the score Burton Albion 1 Exeter 0...
Happy to announce my next charity evening with former Burton Albion favourites JAKE BUXTON and ANDY CORBETT.....phenomenal ticket sales by word of mouth has seen a SELL OUT in less than 36 hours....this time we are raising funds for MIND Burton. Thank you everyone.
Wonderful Boxing day afternoon, great crowd, good support, a terrific performance by the Brewers, 4 goals, 3pts, good attacking football by the boys, the confidence is back and the feel good factor is with us, we love the festive period. 👍🏐☃️
Brilliant night at Stretton Social club raising funds for
@BurtonStroke
an evening with GARY ROWETT &MARK SALE, a full house again, funny, entertaining with lots of stories. Massive thanks to friends and fans for their generosity and support, much appreciated .
First class performance from the Brewers tonight, real team effort, great attacking play first half and controlled the game well in the 2nd, disappointing we could'nt keep a clean sheet but a well deserved 3 points for the boys 👏👏
Just a mention for
@Dino_Maamria
, this manager is one of the most determined and passionate guys I have seen in a dugout, seriously wears his heart on his sleeve, deserves success and deserves our support , we are right behind you Dino...👍👍👍
Amidst our transfer comings and goings ..... one player has kept his head down and worked hard on his recovery
@benfox98
will seem like a new signing for the Brewers, good to see him warming up with the squad today.
Jake Buxton is really making his mark with some good early signings, quietly going about his business, Neal Eardley, vastly experienced and a good player, another good day at the office for Jake. 👍
Deserved point for the Brewers against one of the better teams today, great advert for league 1, but make no mistake, Albion have already proved they are good enough this season....6 unbeaten in all comps, a 4th clean sheet in 5, keep it up boys.👍
Absolutely brilliant game at the Pirelli this afternoon, determination, passion and great football, deserved win against a very good Barnsley team. 3-1 but should have been more, great team effort but for me Colin Daniel stood out, lovely footballer
#happyweekend
