Quickly back to the review. The league rule book cannot have it both ways. You can enter the zone backwards but be on side because you have possession of the puck. But if you enter the zone forwards and your stick is off the puck by an inch, you don't have possession. What?

One other thing I wanted to say before it got crazy: I *love* how Holloway is playing. He wants to impact every shift. He’s skating his heart out, reloading, laying every body, winning pucks. That’s winning hockey. The offense will come for him long term with that foundation.

The Stanley Cup will be awarded in about 24 hours. I’m 38 and do not remember any of the previous Cups, though I was alive for a few. It would be surreal. I’ll never forget the experience of being at Game 6 with my dad. I hope we, and all of us, get one more memory. Game 7!

Over and above the player being clearly pushed in - the goalie is recovered and fully square to the following shot. He allows a bad rebound and the goal is scored. Being fully recovered and square to the next shot has to qualify a goal, I’d think.

Can spend 12 minutes reviewing the most fractional of offside plays to wipe out goals in a league that desperately craves offense. But the referees are allowed to guess on a minor penalty with 2 minutes to go in a tie game. Ugly.

Big boy playoff win for the Oilers. Didn’t dictate the style, but defended extremely hard to limit quality despite high volume. Special teams came up huge. Skinner obviously sensational. That was LA’s best and on their home ice. Oilers take the win.

Klim Kostin has been excellent for the Oilers. Former 1st round pick with size who plays hard, has been happy to embrace a bottom 6 role and is reaping rewards by keeping his game simple and heavy. He could have just said “I’m not a top line guy I might as well go home”…
