“Basketball trainers” be teaching their players how to do 10 moves in one spot. Work on the fundamentals, work on the simplicity of the game. Teach footwork, beating defenders off minimal moves and dribbles. You don’t get extra points for being fancy.

We drove our broken down car back into town quickly and left it there. On our second attempt out through the main road a huge bump appeared and we had to exit the town through another route.

5th place at European championships 💪🏼. What an experience as head coach of Iceland’s U16 national team. Finished the year 9-3. Impressive results for a country whose population is under 400,000 people. Iceland had all three of our teams finish in the Top 8 (U16, U18 & U20).

I was watching some boys today play 3 on 3 pickup. It was slow, checking the ball after every make and walking the ball out to three after misses. I encourage you all to encourage your ballers to play FIBA 3x3. Even 4x4 if numbers permit it, but 3x3 is more efficient.

Coaches, practice what you preach to your players. You preach body language, positivity, better responses to mistake. But you practice poor body language, flail your arms when a player does something wrong, complain to the refs, and use a negative tone of voice when addressing.
