Back in 2021 Novak Djokovic was asked at the Monte Carlo Masters whether his father made him uncomfortable with his antics and opinions. Novak’s classy answer got lost amidst his stance on the Covid vaccine, but now is a good time to bring it back. Thoughtful and balanced.

Novak Djokovic beats Karen Khachanov flies into the QFs of the #ParisMasters against Lorenzo Musetti. Nole crushed Karen who managed only 10 winners to 28 UFE. He broke Nole once in the 1st set but Djokovic broke twice and never looked back. In 9 matches, Karen won only 3 sets.

If Djokovic plays at this level for the rest of the tournament, there is absolutely nothing anyone in his draw or in the other half the draw can do to stop him. The power and depth of his forehand is traumatic to say the least as De Minaur is learning today. #AustralianOpen

Make no mistake: Djokovic was vulnerable. He could’ve lost any of these matches after the win against Rublev. He managed to keep such a world class level while serving that this tournament alone is worth of a whole masterclass on serving for any club or academy.

If you go and rewatch the first set against Ruud, it is truly incredible how he raised his level at probably the only moment available when Ruud served at 5-6. The execution and the shot selection is second to none. The precision and power, the almighty confidence of a champion.

People love to bring Novak Djokovic into the argument when the subject is aggression, bad behaviour and whatnot. He was DSQ from the US Open 2020 for this and people are to this day saying he threw the ball in anger and hit the lineswoman on purpose. Videos don't lie.

In the medium-fast courts of Turin, it’s remarkable how clutch Djokovic became as the matches went by. Being so tired and clearly avoiding long rallies at all costs especially when serving, Novak waited his opponent’s serve games usual mistakes and went for the kill. #ATPFinals
