We may not rival The Shard for height, but we do for history. All south facing, in the shape of a butterfly and every window facing green space. Harlow truly led the New Town revolution.

This was the first residential tower block to be built in Britain. 🏢 Situated in Harlow, Essex, 'The Lawn' was part of master planner Frederick Gibberd’s scheme to house 60,000 people in the New Town. The block even received a Ministry of Health Housing medal in 1952.

In 1947, Harlow pioneered the way as a New Town followed by the creation of the NHS a year later. We were the first town in Britain to have a dedicated health centre and have been served ever since by fantastic GPs in every neighbourhood and of course the incredible @NHSHarlow .
