RT4K can be used as a CRT front end for unusual sources it can't natively display Remember some Japanese PC have the 24khz problem? Just grab an HDMI to VGA dongle and set the computer to 480p output! I made a profile for this mode. Let me know if you might need other profiles.

The X68000 mega thread. Yahoo Japan is the best place to get a machine. Typically a junk model is cheaper as you will have to restore the machine to its working state. Fully restored machines fetch very high prices. I will start with maintenance information

PSP Dock Progress: Here is the card edge that will be inserted into PSP-2000/3000. Everything is quite precise and it should fit safely at 1.6mm. It will have an FFC connector, an FFC cable and go to the next card (please see next tweet)

Sharp decided to use a proprietary video standard for the PSP3000. I didnt check any models after 3000. What PSP3000 does is the video processor normally at end of pipeline has LVDS serializer that send one differential clock pair and two differential data pair.

Rare look at the inside of the Doctor PC JR. It was made by Bung Enterprises and was a Famicom clone, copier and also a computer. Very unusual. Has composite and mono output, RF output, PC AT keyboard input, and it can interact with PC/CD with the parallel port. 1/

Proof of concept. The RT4K can be adjusted to lockon to any video source that exists. Obviously I messed up color wires. I think theyre in reverse...and gnd unused pins The long ribbon makes clocks pretty questionable. The idea is VERY cheap VGA card to replace the screen.

@kelslewin The largest obstacle is the legal system in the United States. Until laws are passed that make exceptions to libraries/archives to perform their duties, game preservation will remain a 'hobby' as it is categorized now. Largely this is a copyright issue.

Long post. On preservation:. Approximately 895 FM Towns CD ROM have been recovered and digitized with an estimated 1400 CD-ROM variants in existence. At a later time I will try to calculate a final number. This leaves about 64% of the software library digitized 1/

Cards arrived Basically the 24 bit parallel RGB from PSP goes into the left card. The right card is the vga output. It should support resolutions up to 1080p VGA if I want to line multiply the PSP video. Note PSP is 2.5V logic and I needed level shifters.

the diff pair clock is running at 54mhz. I also verified this by measuring positive clock edge rail on oscilloscope. Earlier this summer I verified PSP1000 has a roughly 9mhz pixel clock. On top of that there is a separate i2c bus to configure LSI chip onboard the LCD panel

Cartridges are more durable than than laser diode in CD-ROM. I will be making an announcement in the next few weeks regarding open source CD-ROM emulators which is the final frontier for these systems. I expect blowback. FMT, PCE, MCD are what I see so far. 2/2

So if we are running 54mhz diff pair clk, and we have two data pairs, and we have 24 bit RGB..... It takes 6 clock cycles on the 1.8V LVDS bus to send 1 pixel. This is mostly done for a power efficiency move but the SVDI standard is quite unusual in that aspect.

I have remixed the @BlueScsi Hard drive emulator to use Centronics 50 connector instead of IDC50. This connector is used primarily with a lot of Japanese retro computers such as X68000 and FM Towns.

A purpose built board would really be needed to capture pixel and data output follow by JTAG process. Gowin doesn't have a 1.8V LVDS board unfortunately but the chips support it. Anyway, I thought the community would find a primitive LVDS-type BUS interesting.

$850 USD shipped. It is a Hanshin Tigers GameCube set. GCLoader and Noctua fan are installed. There is virtually zero yellowing on the GameCube. It is CIB. The price will not be negotiated. It is a fair price considering prices of boxed ones on eBay and the modifications.
