Pictures don’t do justice to how severe the 11th green and surrounding areas at Shinnecock, but the view from the 12th tee gives you a good idea. The up and down from behind the green is the hardest shot on the course.

First eagle of my life yesterday on 12 at Lookout Mountain. Holed it from 130 and didn’t see it go in. Made the cliche “I’m gonna check the hole” joke when I couldn’t find the ball and it was actually in there. Awesome moment. Don’t ask how I played the other 17.

Zero issue with any of these. Most are pretty standard for upper echelon private clubs (and even regular private clubs). There’s a place for this just as much as there’s a place got the munis where you can wear a tank top in golf. They can coexist.
