@belleeamie @ianbremmer Yes, and that's serious, but we need to put in perspective. Australia's homicide rate is now 1/100,000, and 2/3rd's of murder victims are male. That means 1/300,000 women are murder victims, of which most but not all are domestic violence victims. It's a statistic worth praising

@Partisangirl I think it is perfectly reasonable to be concerned about developments in other countries. It doesn't mean supporting regime change necessarily. But on that score I feel mixed... I am against it on principle, but last year inflation ran at 80,000% and the people are suffering.

On #NorthKorea , deterrence advocates come in two categories: 1) Those who grasp it and try (but fail) to develop a credible strategy. 2) Those who scream "deterrence" as proxy for appeasement. If you argue against strikes but don't know which category you're in, it's the latter.
