As a PPS, I had to resign when I voted against the first meaningful vote. Understood that, due to collective responsibility. Even though a relatively minor position, I was bound by that code. It is inconceivable that any Minister defying a three line whip can stay in position.

Bit surprised there is not more coverage of the fact a judge today has rejected the legal challenge against Prorogation of Parliament. He stated there was no contravention of the law by Government & he had not been persuaded it was a matter for the courts.

I just find it amazing that a majority of 1, out of 650 can outdo the majority of 17.4m people. Parliament voted to respect the referendum result, yet is doing everything it can to deny that. You can frame it however you like, but that is the reality.

If we want to get a good deal, it is imperative we keep “no deal” on the table & not be afraid to use it if the EU don’t want to work with us to achieve one. As someone who ran a business for 20yrs, this a pretty basic negotiating strategy if genuinely trying to achieve a result
