So PAF is likely to acquire FC-31 🤔?
Let's talk,
The 80s was surely a golden period for the Indian Air Force, which was in fact caused by the actions of our western neighbor. The acquisition of US origin F-16 4th gen ac by PAF had triggered a swift response of Indian MoD(1/7)
When 🇮🇳 Indian Navy Sea Harrier intercepted 🇺🇸 US Navy F/A-18 (not an exercise)
So it was 1989 when INS Viraat with its INAS 300 "White Tigers" squadron, flaunting the Sea Harrier, was on a patrol in the Northern Arabian Sea, not too far from Pakistan's coast. (1/5)
No surprise at all, the USAF F-35A remained integrated with Luneberg lens throughout the journey to India, and also during flying display.
These are radar reflectors which emit the aircraft in radars, so that the original RCS remain classified.
SuS (Super Sukhoi) upgrade programme gains momentum as IAF approves development, integration, flight-testing and certification of scaled-up DRDO LRDE Uttam AESA radar as it is ready to allocate testbed aircraft for the purpose.

In 1983, when HAL Design Bereau for looking for foreign solutions to seek a design cooperation for indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) development, 3 European aerospace giants pitched their own designs for joint development and meet mutual requirements. (1/6)

I may get hate guys, but,
🇵🇰 Lollywood's Sherdil >>> Bollywood's Tejas 🇮🇳
The Pakistani movie makers, tho had not so logical plot, managed to offer a better execution with good quality VFX, involvement of actual Air Force elements (real aircraft shots), cinematography, etc..

Another Indian Air Force based aerial action film is currently under development, starring Telugu actor Varun Tej. This will be our 3rd Indian movie in this genre (Aerial Action), after Siddharth Anand's Fighter and Kushal Srivastava's Golden Arrows.
Finally, the first look of Hrithik Roshan as Shamsher "Party" Pathania in his upcoming movie "Fighter". He will be playing the role of a Su-30MKI pilot in Bollywood's first ever aerial action based movie, planned to be released on January 24, 2024.
Fact of the day:
How old were you when you realised that the numbers "518" in SAP-518, the primary ECM pod of the Su-30MKI, actually explains that it can jam the hostile systems operating within 5-18 bandwidth.
Ahh yess...
I presume Indian Air Force has started replacing old Gueneau aircrew helmets with much lighter and dashing MSA Gallet helmets on the LCA Tejas fleet.
Not a major upgrade but surely needed.

During 1962 🇨🇳 Sino-Indian 🇮🇳 War, the 🇺🇲 United States Air Force had deployed several C-130 airframes in India, which were tasked to carryout support missions, which including logistics supply to forward bases (including Leh), evacuation, etc....
Keeping the radar claim aside, quite interesting things related to JF-17 Block III are stated in the "Roar of the Thunder" published in this months's Air Forces Monthly issue, that also includes a lot of things related to future JFT standards.
Finally, after all these years...
LCA Mk1A breaks cover. Noticeable changes with the airframe:
1. New vertical stablizer with no more forward looking RWRs, as they are shifted to Wingtips.
2./3./4. New antennas, part of SDR.

A "wise" approach by India, where instead of making huge investment on a full fledged MLU programme, a phased manner of modernization is adopted that does takes more time, but essentially keeps the overall fleet availibility high. More below:
The one who explained why fighter pilots are of different breed!
Beautiful shot from the lens of Deb Rana sir, displaying how magnificent it was to see Grp Cpt Varun Singh onboard the LCA.

Think Tanks, OSINTs, Analysts from Pak: US will put sanctions on India due to purchase of Russian oil.
Meanwhile US: Planning to pitch both F-15EX and F-21 for IAF MRFA deal; F/A-18 Blk 3 for IN MRCBF; MH-60R heli delivery will be on schedule and more.
Ok i won't lie
It looks like a typical Siddharth Anand movie where you'll see a bulk of action.
But atleast we are finally getting some real fine VFX stuff and visuals in a Bollywood. So yea, I liked it.
Technical inaccuracies, yea. Why that F-16 is green tho 😮💨
In 2000, Pakistan Air Force 🇵🇰 introduced maiden road runway operations in the subcontinent, while Indian Air Force 🇮🇳 did it 15 years later.
However, since then, IAF now possesses 5 stretches/highways for road runway operations (with more under construction)... (1/7)

The photos from recent RAF-IAF exercise, also featured a Rafale DH with InfraRed Search and Track (IRST) system within FSO. The French planned to integrate it with their F4 fleet, along with HMDS. Apparently, IAF got it first.
Guys Guys, Listen:
LCA Mk2: Repetitive Delays 🇮🇳
AMCA: Too far 🇮🇳
Rafale MRFA: Too costly 🇫🇷
Gripen MRFA: Not interested 🇸🇪
Solution:
What if we buy JF-17 Block III instead?
🇵🇰
It's cheap, it's proven, it's already in production
Problem?
Wow! 👏

Exercise Cobra Warrior, which was originally scheduled to be held in March 2022 in 🇬🇧UK will be reorganized in September this year, with 🇮🇹Italian, and 🇫🇮Finnish Air Forces confirmed to take part. Let's hope 🇮🇳 IAF pitches Tejas again in Europe's one of the biggest air exercises.
Speaking practically, HAL Helicopter fleet (Dhruv/Rudra/Prachand) has a wider scope of success in foreign markets and not LCA Tejas. They should be marketed more aggressively to nationS looking for such segment. For Tejas, it should be focused to fulfill IAF requirement first.

The Super 530D was primary Beyond Visual Range (BVR) combat solution with Mirage 2000 fleet of IAF.
As an Indian motorsports fan, watching tricolour cruising on the race track is the best feeling in the world.

The actual full-fledged development of LCA was only initiated in 1993 after final design freeze (in 1990) and funding allotment. 8 years later in 2001, the jet took its 1st flight. Comparing it with others:
1. J-10: 1986-1998 (12 years)
2. EFT: 1983-1994 (11 years)
People from a country that never designed an aircraft on its own will never understand. But anyway, fyi, Tejas is carrying Gsh-23-2 even before IOC. And here's a LSP-8 on approach.

I come from an India that mass produced Asia's first supersonic fighter bomber,

But I also come from an India that disbanded similar state-of-the-art projects to prefer imports.
Interesting pattern:
In the 80s, IAF inducted two platforms: MiG-29B and Mirage 2000H in response to PAF acquisition of F-16A Block-15
Now, PAF is inducting two platforms: JF-17A Block III and J-10C(P) in response to IAF acquisition of Rafale F3R(I)
