'We were just blissfully happy'

"For him, it's the ultimate honor he could give back to his country," she said.
Asst. Chief Brent Seymour says arson investigators will be inside as soon as it is safe.
They will work to find where the fire started, but he says it’s going to be hard because the whole building is “completely destroyed.”
An Assistant Fire Chief tells me the first phone call came in at 6:40.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was through the roof.
There was so much fire, they decided not send firefighters inside, but fight it from the outside of the structure.
No injuries reported.
The fire appears mostly out right now.
Firefighters are starting to walk around the side of the building, working to determine whether it’s safe for investigators to go inside.

New projections today show a much flatter curve here in Tennessee compared to last week.

Breaking:
Knoxville’s Central High School will move to virtual learning next week, an email from the principal says.
It’s the first Knox County School to move virtual this year, a week after the district saw a record-shattering number of COVID cases.
Well the word’s officially out.
I’m so excited to move to Dallas this month and join the team at

NEW:
Nearly 9,000 students did not show up to Knox County Schools today.
The district says 14% of students—about 1 in 7—were absent.
It comes as the number of reported active COVID-19 cases in the district jumps to another record high.
WORST IN THE NATION
Tennessee now has the worst current outbreak in the country, the CDC says.
It’s not even close. We’ve surpassed Oklahoma and now report *double* the national average of new people infected. See for yourself:

Good news in the COVID-19 fight:
In Knox Co., hospitalizations halved overnight. Now 16 people are hospitalized with the virus, down from 33 yesterday. The

Also in the past 48 hours, recoveries outpaced active cases again.

On Friday, 15.7% kids & 661 staff were out.

I don't know how to convey just how bad this is.
