This trend of firing coaches as they leave the floor is totally disgusting. All coaches know if we don’t win enough this is coming, but could it not wait until at least after the press conference? What is the purpose other than to completely humiliate the coach and his team? Smh

Sports are really important for kids. Right or wrong, sports are the main motivating factor for many kids to do their best academically in high school. They also teach kids lessons in teamwork & work ethic that are invaluable. Hoping this is taken into consideration by the state!

Being a head coach means you worry about 20 or so sons at once, plus another 70 (and counting) that have graduated but you still worry about too. You never really “turn it off” in your mind. Can get very tiring and frustrating at times, but wouldn’t want any other job.

Rick Pitino is a defensive mastermind. How you effectively teach man fullcourt trapping pressure… into a matchup 2-3 zone… which will then flip into man in the middle of a possession when the ball hits a certain area of the floor… is beyond me.

Turkey defeats USA in the third place game of the U19 World Cup. Led from start to finish and were clearly the better team. Bigger, smarter, more skilled, better organized. Big wakeup call for USA Basketball. Will have to recruit and prepare better. Talent gap has been erased.

It’s not too late to fix this kind of nonsense. Get a KSHSAA Executive meeting together ASAP, seed it 1-16 East/West like normal, and let’s go! Give the kids and coaches a legit, fair postseason that we’ve worked very hard for. We’ve come this far in 2020-21 just fine. Why not?

“Grind” is a misused term for sports in my opinion. Working a 12 hour night shift at your 2nd job to make ends meet for your family is a “grind.” Sports are something players and coaches GET to do and that we are privileged to do, not something we are forced to do.

Why I love DHS kids: ✅Football working their tails off, 5-0 ✅Soccer playing so hard, 9-1 ✅XC went on a 7 mile, 7:00 am Saturday run ✅After preforming Friday night, heard band/drumline practicing early Saturday List could go on & on. Our kids just understand how to work hard!

2 of my neighbors are freshman boys. They have one other friend over today. They have been outside (in the 100 degree heat) playing “21” in the driveway, now running football pass patterns 1 v 1 in the yard. Not inside playing 🎮, but outside playing 🏀 & 🏈. Love it! #Throwbacks

Easy way for a young person to stand out in today’s world... Do what your teachers / coaches / supervisors ask you to do, to the best of your ability, without trying to cheat or cut corners. Kids that can do that have a great percentage of their peers beaten out from the start.

Many people are blasting college freshman transferring after one year. But truthfully... coaches need to look in the mirror. If you recruit a kid acting one way, and then you treat him completely different when you get him on campus and coach him, why would they stay? Be genuine!
