Let this sink in: in high school, Yante wasn’t the leading the scorer of his team. He never once demanded more shots or complained he wasn’t getting the ball enough. He kept the team first and excelled in his role everyday. In college his role changed and he was ready for that.

I grew up going to Catholic league games in the 90s. The best thing about last nights game was how many dads and youth coaches have reached out about how much of a great experience it was for them and their kid/team. And how hard the teams played. #Respect #Leaders

Every college coach I know will give up some talent to gain some culture. As a high school coach teaching this is a challenge but also a responsibility. Athletes that struggle with this concept have an uphill battle to find a good fit.

PLAYERS: As you go back and forth from AAU to HS practices/workouts have confidence but don’t be over confident. There’s only one way to play the game. That’s the right way. Too many times I see kids start acting like they are better than the HS team just bc they play year round.

If you haven’t seen this kid play you can’t understand the magnitude of Coach Stone statement. He would start on EVERY TEAM IN THE STATE. He works on his game EVERY SINGLE DAY! not just in Nov through March. He is DESERVING not wanting.
