20 years ago today, the first chapter of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle was released in Japan. Written and illustrated by Clamp, the series ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine and went on to sell over 20 million volumes worldwide.
25 years ago today, Cardcaptor Sakura premiered in Japan. The series won the Animage Grand Prix award for Best Anime in 1999 and has been praised for its writing, animation, characters, humor and LGBTQ+ representation by critics and fans alike.
