Join us in celebrating Retired WSFD Sergeant, Robert Grier who turns 101 years old today. Mr. Grier was 1 of 8 African Americans to integrate WSFD in 1951. This crew (Engine 4) was NC 1st integrated Fire Company. Today and always we salute Sgt. Robert Grier. Happy Birthday!

Training tonight was to move a large amount of water at a long distance. We laid a total of 3500 feet of 5 inch supply line with 1 pumper in line, which resulted in 2900 gallons of water per minute, and we still had 50 psi residual at the hydrant.
