This afternoon’s march in honor of George Floyd between Bear Creek Park and Keller Town Hall has ended. Thank you to all for a safe and successful event, especially to organizers Charles Banks and Myles Britton. Keller PD estimates 3,000 peaceful protesters were in attendance.

She did us so proud, y’all. Keller’s own Ellie Breaux and Miss Texas may not have taken the crown, but she made it all the way to the end as the FIRST RUNNER-UP in tonight’s Miss America 2024 competition. Congratulations on an incredible run, Ellie.
Two Sweetgum Circle residents heard tonight’s Public Works snow crew was running into issues finding dinner to buy because of outages, so they brought them a home-cooked meal of spaghetti, potato soup, cookies and brownies. Thank you Ms. Cooksley and Ms. Howell! 🤩
Thanks to the incredibly hard work of our Public Works crews Friday afternoon to flush lines and collect water samples in the wake of Fort Worth lifting the boil water notice for their northern sector, we were able to get our samples to the Tarrant County lab ahead of schedule.

We’re not sure whether to be impressed or terrified. So our Creepy Victorian Murder Doll disappeared off her bench early this evening, and a life-sized version has evidently replaced her!
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Army veteran. He was retired from a career with American Airlines, and many in town may remember him as a committed public servant.
Our thoughts today are with Karen, Caleb, Nathan, and the rest of Terry's family and friends. The Field of Honor display in front of Keller Town Hall that was originally set for disassembly this afternoon will remain in place for an additional week in Terry's memory.
THURSDAY NOON WATER UPDATE
The City of Keller has partnered with former Keller City Councilman and Samantha Springs Owner Joe McCombs to set up a station for residents to access clean, immediately drinkable water.
KFD Station 1 rescued a solo baby squirrel left out in the cold over the weekend. The little guy, whom they named Missile, is now in the care of Fort Worth-based wildlife rescuers.
Oncor and Tri-County have now both shared that they believe they are finished with controlled, rotating outages for now. They continue to repair weather-related outages throughout the region.
There is NO LINE at the Keller Town Hall polling location right now if you're looking for somewhere to pop in quickly. Further confirmation that Keller residents did a great job voting early!

MILESTONE WATER EVENT UPDATE - Church officials have updated us that a large line is already forming for the planned drive-thru bottled water giveaway this afternoon. To ensure they can keep up with demand, they’ve solicited the assistance of Joe McCombs and Samantha Springs.
We’ve received several inquiries about the boil water notice that has been issued for areas of Fort Worth.
Please be advised that the City of Keller is NOT receiving water from the impacted treatment plant, so Keller customers do not need to boil their water at this time.

Longtime Keller High School counselor Benann Turnley recently retired after 35 years in education and decided to use her passport for the first time and take a trip around the world.
It’s official! Mayor Armin Mizani took his oath of office in a private ceremony at Keller Town Hall this afternoon.
He was sworn in by Mayor Pat McGrail, who is retiring after more than 20 combined years in elected office.
First Baptist Church of Keller, 225 Keller Pkwy., will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. offering boiled water and a limited supply of groceries on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are asked to bring their own containers to fill with the water.

Last year, Shady Grove Elementary student Trenton Pace died of a rare genetic disease. He was only 11 years old.
Since his passing, his parents have worked with the City and Keller ISD to keep his memory alive.
