Maybe if BJJ warmups weren't stupid people wouldn't skip them. My warmup every day consists of light hand-fighting, takedown drills focusing on setups (shots w no finish), and working up to finishing full-speed takedowns. Takes about 15 mins. I've used this for about a year.

One time I was training with someone who was bigger and stronger than me, and also known for their guillotine. I had a neck injury. Tingling in my fingers. Pain. They guillotined me so hard that they fixed my neck. I haven't had a neck issue since then. Jiu-Jitsu saves lives.

I taught kids BJJ for 2 years. Kids who stayed in the class for several years developed discipline, focus, and resiliency. It really stood out when compared to new kids in the class. Anecdotal evidence, but I'm confident BJJ is one of the best sports for kids.

Grappling is HIGHLY anabolic. - weight cutting - extreme stress on the joints so that lifting heavy becomes a safety hazard - multiple sessions per day burn so many calories gaining weight is extremely difficult - if you train hard, you could damage your body with injuries

The best way to improve your confidence in your BJJ is not some self-help mumbo jumbo about "believing you can do it" or whatever. It's getting good at submission defense. That's it. If you're hard to finish, your confidence to try to attack will skyrocket.
