People raised handling firearms learn to respect their potential. A gun is a tool for targets, hunting, and personal protection. I grew up rural, in gun culture. By 5th grade, we were hunting alone or with friends. By 7th, we'd all passed Hunter's Safety. We were safe w/our guns.
@BrianRoemmele
My best friend had a heart transplant. He grew up in Malaysia. Upon recovery, he had a deep knowledge of New Orleans jazz, blues, and an affinity for southern and Cajun cuisine. He’s never experienced any of this. Don’t know what to make of it?
@SarahisCensored
Agree. She should have an agent and a contract with Netflix or HBO by week’s end. She’s genuine, which is why comedy comes easy for her. Her love of living is infectious.
@MichaelWarbur17
similar: had an old team leader in the army, who’d just bought a new GMT. I commented that it was a bit extravagant. His response, “Always have a watch on that’s worth enough to get you out of a jam, or a plane ticket back home.”
@VigilantFox
I couldn't do it. When we were ordered to go to the riots in LA back in '92, I flat refused. I was not going to shoot a US citizen on US soil for rioting. I would not arrest or harass someone for exercising free speech. Anyone who obeys an unconstitutional order should be jailed.
@Noahpinion
This makes sense. As a soldier, especially in small unit operations, one of the best ways to avoid getting caught is to take the damn near impossible route. It sucks and it’s hard, but most people can be relied upon to defer to easy.
@AlexNoonan6
In my mid-50’s and my primary physical conditioning objective is to ensure that I can always pull my drunk ass (should that ever become the case…) out of a ditch or from beneath the golf cart that I just flipped

On the other hand, perhaps he’s a construction worker who plays music? He looks like he has a good life. I do agree with you that providing scholarships and grants for artists is good idea.
@nope_its_lily
You ain’t never been wrong. Came here in ‘89 at 21, quite reluctantly (my orders (Army) to go to Italy were changed for Fort Ord). About 3 or 4 weeks of living on the Monterey Peninsula and I realized my good fortune. California has it all.
@awaytowellbeing
Our son was born at 24 weeks at UCSF. Robin Williams would come in and hang out with the babies at night. He would hold the ones that he could. I thought that was pretty sweet.
@LauraPowellEsq
If I offered you a menstrual product when I was in middle school or high school, your father, older brother, or a family friend would pay me a visit and kick my ass. And, if we ended up in court, the judge would rule in my askickers' favor and I might end up in Juvie.
@gaborgurbacs
I was wrong in my opinion about banning TikTok. It’s difficult to believe that this bill is coming from our Senate. Any member of our Legislature who would support this should never be re-elected.
I'm leaning toward the notion that TikTok should be banned. Gonna miss the work of
@kylascan
on it, but, she'll make the best and reach us on another app.

It's something that I grew up doing. We learned to plan, track, hunt, kill, field dress, and share our bounty w/family & friends. The skills you build and the work that you do to become a great hunter keep you grounded in nature and very respectful of it. Hunting is honorable.
@MichaelWarbur17
I saw him make the cut in the for the first time at the AT&T at Pebble Beach (formerly The Crosby). He was playing with Peter Jurvetson (I think). He had tried for years and years. It was in the mid 90’sand he was elated; hell, the whole crowd was.
@DrOBrienMD
No. Clinicians should stay apolitical. Their mission is to heal and their patients need to be able to rely upon their objectivity and focus. Do you want the person who might take care of your mom or child to focus on anything other than them?
@chigrl
We enabled a-generation-and-a-half of weakness and encouraged a victim’s mindset at a time when online media served as a tool to erode community and interpersonal relationships.
@samsinger
Been to my office there, maybe 3 times since the pandemic. It's in a nice area, and right off of a BART stop. After the 7-11 shooting by Lake Merritt, I'm done with Oakland.
@Francis_A_K
He was the only soccer player that I knew about, being a kid in the 70's and 80's in the US. I worked on a longliner fishing for halibut and black cod back in the mid 90's with a gentleman who played with him. Manuel had nothing but good things to say about Pele.
@ScottAdamsSays
We moved our California-based manufacturing (roll forming steel vineyard trellis and making greenhouse parts and plastic) to China and Malaysia, because of the cost of insurance in the early 00's. I'm outta that business, now.
@Carnage4Life
Disagree. I'll not discount the soul. To replicate technical skills impeccably or to implement logic hyper-efficiently is beyond impressive. Yet, when it comes to creating art, the observer intuits the soul's presence. It gives the art a unique meaning that cannot be replicated.
@RockNRoLL_85
It's pretty close to a tie. Musically, those Aerosmith albums appeal to me. But, man, those first three albums by Van Halen are drive-60-miles-in-twenty-minutes rockin'. I'm going with Van Halen.
@VideosVuvu
About 15 years ago, I was working with a group who was going to purchase a very large tract of soybeans that were all being sold into the European markets. My plan was to sell the production locally at a fair price. This resulted in anonymous death threats. We pulled out.
@AdamSinger
He expects you to take care of his girl.
Train to shoot conventionally, as well as, one-handed, from either hand, from the prone and kneeling. Do some MOUT. Lots of rounds, maintenance, and time invested to get good, but worth it, that one time it matters. Thank goodness it’s
@gunsnrosesgirl3
Getting chastised by a neighbor, or any adult for that matter, when you stepped out of life me. Now, it seems that everybody is scared of one another.
@SMTuffy
Heart wrenching. As parents, we have to do better. There’s no excuse for much of it. Till our children can stand on their own, we have to put their needs ahead of our careers and desires. We have to be involved. And they have to know that they’re loved, unconditionally, always.
@iantheCROAT
That's like going on vacation to somewhere like Nantucket, buying a cheap t-shirt or sweatshirt that says Nantucket, and wearing it to supper that evening in Nantucket. It's just not done.
@onebiglizard
Yeah! My first ride was at Privates. Rented board and wetsuit. A lady saw that I didn’t know what I was doing and coached me: “Paddle! Paddle! Paddle!!!”I couldn’t believe how much work it was, but then I got up… Zen. Big smile on my face. I was on it and in it: the moment.
@InfiniteL88ps
@EdLatimore
Just listened to it. Gonna have my son listen to it. Some real insight, including the power of perception (e.g. being liked vs. being respected) and our ability to check it, contextualize it, and adapt it to reality. Also, significance of childhood trauma upon our perception.
@darren_stallcup
@KimJuliaKyle1
I agree with you, and I'd step up and defend it with you, as well. However, I am grateful to live in our republic, where this Constitution that we have in place, grants people the right to do something that I find to be this despicable.
@LKrauss1
I'm sorry that you lost a good friend. Over the past 3 or 4 years, I can't tell you how many times that I too have thought, "What would Christopher Hitchens have to say about this?"
