(1/2) Some positivity 😊👇🏾 My dad who is over 60 & diabetic beat COVID-19. We managed his symptoms at home & he has been asymptomatic for over 2 weeks now. Most people who get COVID-19 have mild symptoms and will recover.

I won the National AIDS Council Prize for the Best HIV paper covering the Zimbabwe National HIV programme priority areas 💃🏽 The paper was a mixed-methods process evaluation of a community based support intervention to improve HIV treatment outcomes for children and adolescents.

I visited 1 of our rural clinics in Mat South today & discovered that, among other drugs, the facility has not had pediatric ARVs for over a month & neither does the district hospital. The consequences of this are heartbreaking. My small voice will make some noise about this.

My mom had a stroke when I was 17. I became her primary carer. Yesterday felt like I was re-living that experience all over again. I instantaneously felt my body tense up & go into preservation mode. It’s been so many years & all this time such strong feelings have been in me.

I don’t think we give condoms enough credit. They really are an all rounder. They have been out there preventing HIV, STIs & Pregnancy for decades. They are easy to use & accessible in most places. We don’t rave about them enough. Yes, this is a condom appreciation post.

I saw a woman lying on the side of the road this morning. I stopped the car to check if she was ok. She was shaking. Said she was diabetic. When I looked at her face I realized I had seen her before 6 months ago. Same woman. Same story. Walking to look for work. She hadn’t eaten.
