@VMCat The center of the ridge (which in this case is the 600 circle) setting up somewhere in the central plains. The higher the number the stronger the ridge. Big heat maker which suppresses storm development (slim rain chances) under the ridge. High GPM = calm wx/very hot.

So far every model (ICON, CMC, GFS) has been trending even colder. I am starting to get worried for TX. Actual temps in single digits with a breeze would make a lot of issues. Cars having trouble starting. Animals left outside could die, etc.

Unreal, never gets old, shallow… cold… air… always… WINS. February 2021 had same kind of shallowness, models busted with temps, nothing can stop it from coming south except barbed wire fences at the surface. Abilene temp low 20s feel like ~10° at 3PM Monday. #txwx
