In Westminster Abbey today, so many people took my hand in theirs and thanked me for saying I was gay, in the pulpit. They said thank you for - at last - making them feel welcome in church. If I never do anything else useful ever again, I thank God for the opportunity to do this.

It is completely unacceptable for bishops to bless solar panels, for which there is no explicit biblical narrative or warrant whatsoever. This is heretical - we need good differentiation and our own set of bishops and structures to avoid being stained by this kind of sin.

I understand that our bishops have been told to ‘hold the process’ and say nothing about LGBTQI people ‘for now’, and that those who have said something are not following ‘the plan’. If this is the case (and a bishop says it is) then I really despair.

Something interested me on shift overnight. If people in my secular job expressed the views 'church people' express about LGBT people, or treated them the way they do, then they would be in for a disciplinary, at very least. Funny old world.

Bishops should stop refusing to license clergy in same-sex marriages, and stop refusing to ordain people in them. They should stop right now, which they easily can, without any synod vote - in fact, individual diocesans could just stop unilaterally. Inexcusable that they do not.

Why is there not a daily #synod digest? I know it's niche, but on the other hand it's hardly transparent or accountable if ordinary laity and clergy have to swim their way through hours and hours of (often quite boring and technical) debate to find out what has been said/decided
