Y'all we just dropped a huugggge update to Supertape. Totally redesigned app and website. Made a fun video to go along with it! Super pumped on this one.
We just launched a complete redesign of the Supertape app. It’s simpler, faster, and easier to do what’s most important. We're really excited about it. We made a little video to showcase the new design.
a lil update: after almost *12 years* designing at apple, i left to cofound a business with some friends. we’re helping bands make websites that are always up-to-date. it’s a dream.
we just launched our beta at .
can’t wait to share more.
@cameronmoll
Thanks Cameron! like anything at Apple, it's always a team effort. But ya, I lead design on Activity across watch and phone for series one.
this is exactly what i tell folks about work at apple. feels like magic on the outside, but there’s no special process—just folks making lots and lots of work.
Design thinking is a way to trick yourself, and others, into doing more reps than you otherwise would have, to produce creative outcomes, which look like magic on the outside, but are simply the result of work over time.
we pushed a pretty big update to
@heysupertape
's marketing site over the weekend. we grew out of our little one-pager and needed more room to tell our story. Really excited to grow into this thing.

not always true, but mostly: there’s an inverse relationship between how much someone talks on here about their work/time at apple and their actual impact on shipping product.
happy to eat these words at a later date, but i’m bullish on humane. worked alongside
@imranchaudhri
for a long time and just wouldn’t bet against him.
it's offish, taking down the beta tags on
@heysupertape
. it's been such a dream building for musicians. seeing bands sign up and getting to be a small part of their journey will never get old.
can't wait to keep growing this thing.
the variety of work your get to do as a design/founder is invigorating. this week:
ui and product work
film editing
motion design
channel branding
blog/social post
content creation
newsletter
various graphics
website update/PR
artist support
and so on
have been working on the next evolution of
@heysupertape
's marketing site, and sheesh, after spending the last 12 years immersed in just product design, shout out to all the brand designers who make it look easy.
This is where Kamala Harris's ideas about gender lead: to a grown man pummeling a woman in a boxing match. This is disgusting, and all of our leaders should condemn it.
been seeing a lot of takes on "this should just be an app" and while yes, maybe, what excites me is giving something like this to my kids. something that allows them to stay connected, capture their world, and encourages their curiosity.
@tranhelen
36! one of my fav things about apple is how they value the IC role. autonomy, influence, responsibility without moving into management. Much older folks in our studio too!
my fav detail is probably the *giant* supertape wordmark in the masthead.
@Michaelcina
tweaked
@xyz_displaay
's roobert face and I just love it so much.
so impressed with this app. craft is top notch. perfect 1.0 release. solving so many problems my writing partner and I have had the last few years already. congrats y'all!
does an AI text-to-midi drummer exist? I want to select a midi region in my DAW, tell it to generate a drum fill/snare roll/etc, control velocity/humanization/styles, click to generate more variants, etc etc.
when I start a new template for
@heysupertape
I put on my favorite bands and pretend I'm designing for them: sending
@HOLY_FAWN
all of my manifestation energy right now.
@cameronmoll
totally. i was very fortunate to be part of a design org that expressly valued quiet voices. wasn't always perfect, and culturally didn't always translate when interfacing with other orgs, but we lead by example and it was a stated value.
4— literally so much more. amazed at how much just three scrappy folks can do. this next year is gonna be just as full. very grateful to be able to do this work.
css gurus: I've got an intentionally clipped image at the bottom of a page… when the page rubber bands, I want it to reveal its clipped bits instead of just being cropped. can this be done with some clever css?
@Teevio
thanks man! a lot still left, but excited for it! and ya, 12 years! life comes at ya fast. miss our entrepreneurial days… byclog, criblo. we coulda ruled the world!
@amoamoamo
do y'all have any further info on what happens with contacts after onboarding? will they ever get any unsolicited messages or emails? or just notified that I'm there if they too sign up? thanks!
just to let y'all know how things are going in our local school board race, the first thing you see on one of the candidate's site, before any policy or bio, is an FOP endorsement.
I bring you good news of great logo tidings —
@logolanddotbiz
is a magical place where you can get a logo for $999 (for the rest of 2023). A professional logo at a *really* great price in 7 business days.

oh niceeee! exciting. I think what I mostly wanted, was an easy front-end for friends to update a really simple/lightweight/static site. For instance, adding an event (date, location, time, etc) to their site, just by adding a new "entry" (or w/e) to an "Events" note.
the OA is a bizarre and beautiful show. this scene had me in tears. even this clip, with its extremely dubious music overdub, gives me chills. gonna have to watch again.
