My initial understanding is that the Red Sox plan to mix and match with Hernández, Mondesi and Arroyo up the middle. I'm told it's still up the air who would be at shortstop on the days both Hernández and Mondesi are in the lineup. A lot of variables in play, obviously.

Some games have been postponed after positive COVID-19 tests, but the Red Sox have kept playing through their outbreak. Why?

Other teams stopped playing because of COVID-19 outbreaks. Why were the Red Sox told to keep going?

Breaking from their recent trend of high school infielders in the first round, the Red Sox just took U of Virginia catcher Kyle Teel at 14 overall. Baseball America had him ranked 10th in the class, MLB Pipeline had him 7th. Instantly the top catching prospect in the system.

Per major league source, Corey Kluber and the Red Sox have an agreement on a one-year deal with a $10 million guarantee for 2023, with a team option for 2024. Kluber, who lives in Winchester, gets to commute to work.

Christian Arroyo has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple A. He had enough service time to elect free agency but not enough to reject the assignment. So, he could have become a free agent but would have given up the last two months of his $2M contract to do so.

My sister just texted the family about her 8-year-old's Little League all-star game, which went 3 1/2 hours and was still tied at 9 p.m., so the game was suspended and will be resumed tomorrow. "Most exciting game I've ever been to," she said. She was at Lester's no hitter!
