No player other than Michael Jordan has won the MVP, Scoring Title, 1st Team All-Defensive Selection, NBA Championship, and Finals MVP all in the same year. MJ did it 4 times. (91, 92, 96, 98).
Derrick Rose last three games:
Pelicans: 23 PTS | 9/17 FG | 5 AST | +22
Hornets: 17 PTS | 8/12 FG | 5 AST | +2
Hawks: 20 PTS | 8/12 FG | 3 AST | +14
He’s been a HUGE part off the bench in the Knicks EIGHT GAME WIN STREAK 🌹
@drose
The sooner we realize the following the better: 1. Patrick Williams ain’t it. 2. The Vucevic trade was a massive mistake. 3. It’s time to get on with another rebuild. This was an absolutely travesty, and there are no excuses for it. It’s over.
Zach LaVine's final 22 games, from the All Star break until the last reg-season game: 35.7 MPG, 53% FG, 39.4% from 3, 87.8 FT%, 4.7 APG, 3.5 RPG, 27 PPG. The Bulls were 14-8 during this stretch & he led the team to W's over Denver-Lakers-Philly-Memphis-Miami. Arguably, the best
I always find teammate reactions to a play like this interesting. I know there was still an OT to play, but I am dumbfounded why the immediate universal reaction isn’t similar to Coby’s…and it’s partly why I love Coby and I’m lukewarm on others.
The benching of Williams last night was completely justified. These 3 plays were from the first 4 minutes of Q1 alone. The final one resulted in the Caruso substitution. I find it hard to blame this on Billy.
While in Chicago, Korver played behind the likes of Keith Bogans and never averaged more than 22.6 minutes per game. In his next 4 seasons in ATL, he never averaged less than 30 MPG’s. Kyle Korver was underplayed as a Bull.
Was the official who refused to grant David Blatt a timeout during Game 4 of the 2015 Bulls-Cavs series ever investigated? Because I believe that had far more disastrous repercussions on league integrity than talking to Ball a few hours early.
The Bulls traded Butler to jump start the rebuild. Tanking for 2 years was part of the plan. I expected playoffs and a competitive team this season. This is a basketball catastrophe. There is something seriously wrong w/ the Bulls & I’m not sure a new coach would fix it.
I’ve never been more disappointed in a Bulls team. It’s an absolute disgrace. I’ve never watched a team that made me want to throw my TV on the roof. The past 6 minutes have brought me to this.
This is the lowest point for the Bulls franchise in the past 20 years. The amount of assets and draft capital we sent away for this…this could be the nadir of the Bulls franchise. Pathetic.
I recognized AC immediately. He politely confirmed his identity & I provided a 1-2 minute speech about the greatness of the city & the Red Leviathan. He seemed enthusiastic, took the pic with Ben, and walked on to his destination.
Every day that Jim Boylen remains head coach of the Chicago Bulls remains bewildering to me. A simple review of one week of Bulls games should have made it eminently apparent he is not suited for the job. I will cautiously assume their is a method to the madness here. We’ll see.
Wendell Carter Jr.’s last 3 games: 71% from the field, 50% from 3, 16 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.7 assists in 29 minutes per game. The 21 year old is progressing nicely.
Ayo Dosunmu: 36 rebounds in 236 total minutes, 9 offensive. To put that into perspective, PWill had 11 rebounds, 1 offensive in 125 minutes. Ayo always leaves his imprint on the game…what a steal of a pick in round 2.
This is a basketball apocalypse. Even our most consistent player, WCJ, has been awful the past 2 games. There is nothing to celebrate, nothing to believe in, nothing to hope for. The season is over. Happy Thanksgiving.
Before the Pistons game, Derrick Rose took time to meet a fan who's a two-time non-hodgkin's lymphoma survivor.
He said Rose is his inspiration due to everything Rose has had to come back from with injuries 🙏
Let the record show, AKME traded Gafford for Troy Brown (terrible), Daniel Theis (walked as a FA), and Javonte Green (out of the league). Gafford was the best player in the trade. It's rarely discussed, but it was another massive screw-up.
Oh my god dude, Gafford on the Mavs is so sick. Elite lob threat. Great screener. Legit rim protector. Underrated. Basically the perfect combination of the best skills of all their current bigs. The perfect dance partner for Luka.
The Bulls should pay a Coach to walk around with PatWill all day, and just repeat “You’re awesome, kick ass, be aggressive”...all day in his ear. He just needs to be more confident.
This team is a total embarrassment. The Coach plays favorites, when no one on this team deserves it outside of WCJ. It’s the most disappointing Bulls team I’ve ever seen, including the 07-08 version. We’re a complete joke.
Dunn’s defense was the primary reason Butler shot 3-14 on Sunday. And last night, he’s primarily responsible for Trae going 4-14...He should get consideration for the NBA All-Defensive team.
Gafford has 16 points at half. It’s outrageous that we had to endure minute after minute of Kornet while this kid rotted on the bench. Boylen wouldn’t know a seasoned player if one kicked him in the face.
Trading WCJ to move up for anyone in this draft is insane. He’s 21 years old and already an excellent defender. He’ll be considered elite by age 24. An elite defensive big is condusive to winning. Although WCJ’s offensive ceiling has been Boylened, Donovan will set him free.
The Bulls lost to the Cavs…and on the same night, the Nets lost to Houston, the Knicks lost to the Pacers, and the Raptors lost to the Thunder. It’s basketball…L’s will happen.
This team is an unmitigated disaster. If you’ve built a team so dependent on an oft-injured Lonzo Ball for success, you’ve done a terrible job in roster construction.
Evaluation should be complete now. This team sucks. Call Dallas, offer Zach & whatever they want for picks. It’s tank time. I’ve never been more disappointed in a Bulls team. They’ve broke me.
Michael Jordan outplayed HOF-ers Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Gary Payton, Karl Malone, & John Stockton for his 6 titles. No one outplayed him. Dirk outplayed LBJ, & you could potentially argue that Durant did too. Why is there even a discussion on the GOAT?
Boylen has to get Valentine outta there. He’s a +20 in 17 minutes, but he has taken 0 charges and he can’t play football. And he’s creating way too much space for others.
Shaq Harrison started this game. We were down 13-0. Stop talking about Shaq Harrison. Denzel Valentine scored 9 points in 5 minutes to close this game. Why he sat on the bench for the first 16 games of this season is an indictment of our jack-ass coach.
Lost in LaVine’s brilliance last night: Coby White: 28 points, 12-19 shooting, 4-9 from 3, 2 steals. Wendell Carter Jr. 17 points, 11 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks. He was also the victim of some horrendous foul calls. Great effort from our young guys.
I’m going to give it another week or 2, but if this continues, the ramifications should be massive and severe. We didn’t trade Butler to go through a decade long process. That’s nonsense, & only accepted by mouth breathers. This team should not be 1-4.
Ayo Dosunmu numbers this evening: 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, team high +- of +15, stellar defense, and efficient shooting (7-9 shooting, 3-4 from 3)…shooting that more celebrated rookies from the Western conference could only dream of. This kid is special.
The Knicks were a 10-13 team when they acquired Rose. Signing Derrick would not only make us significantly better…it would also diminish the Knicks, and end their fairy tale as a one-year wonder. Bring him home.
Coby White is not just a “role guy”. Every facet of his game has improved significantly. It amazes me that we’re still putting a ceiling on Coby at the age of 23, despite his consistently stellar play over the past few weeks.
This is why this version of the Bulls are better without the current version of Zach LaVine.
3 (or more) above average defenders on the floor in closing scenarios.
More two-way role guys spacing, balancing the offense, then doing the dirty work thing.
I was a Sergeant in Lauri’s army. I defected last season, but he’s a good dude & a fine basketball player. He didn’t fit w/ the Bulls. I wish him the best in his new endeavor, until he plays Chicago. It’s likely he’ll join Portis-Gafford-Payne-DougMcD & find success elsewhere.
I expected Vucevic to decline even further defensively this season as he turns 33 this month, but if he is going to give up straight-line drives like this to lumbering C’s like Lopez, it’s going to be a long freaking year.
I've heard a lot of skepticism, even from those I respect, about the DeMar move. Regardless of how you feel about it, the following still remains true: The ceiling for this team is dependent on how good Zach and PWill will be in 2 years...that was true last week, and true today.
Coby White is shooting 48.7% from 3 over his last 4 games (a stellar 10-16 in the last 2). Kudos to AKME for not reflexively moving all players from the Pax era, because Coby can play & he is an integral part of this team. He’s young and improving. (He will be 22 on Wed).
The Bulls should immediately end the “Should Coby start?” nonsense & call him the PG starter on day 1 of training camp. We need to know if Coby-Zach can become the East “Lillard-McCollum”...2 combo guards who kick-a$$ offensively. Delaying this step would be incredibly dumb.
Yeah, I’m gonna say it: With Lauri-Wendell Carter Jr-LaVine-Dunn-Portis-Valentine-Hutchison, the Bulls have assembled the best group of players 24 & under in the NBA. You hear me

What’s so frustrating about this season: Coby White has emerged as a star, Ayo has returned to very good, and Caruso is having a fantastic year. Declining play from the Big 3 however have left us more or less in the same place.
It’s astounding what AKME has done this offseason. We have + passers at every starting position. Every double on Zach will be punished by DeRozan. Coby & Ayo will emerge as essential rotation players. Caruso provides elite point of the attack defense. We’re a legit contender.
@JCowleyHoops
Weren’t several Bulls turned off by Jimmy Butler’s demeanor in the locker room back in 2015-2017? What specifically was Vooch turned off by? All the winning?
There is a massive difference between choosing not to watch Bulls games & asking others not to watch. If you don’t want to watch, don’t watch. But you can take your sanctimonious critiques for those who invest time in the team and pound sand. LaVine alone is worth watching.
