If functional diagnoses are actually “really common” then they might often be wrong, motivated by systemic blind spots, prejudices, and lacunae of knowledge rather than #science . The point is, not everything that is not established science is necessarily pseudoscience. There are important open questions and always will be. Throwing around the pseudoscience label is largely unhelpful for embracing this fact.

These are “conservatives” like Timothy McVeigh was a conservative. Do better, NYT!

@MoriartyLab @LymeGen It may not fully work for many reasons, including the fact that my autoimmune system has clearly (serologically as well as symptomatically speaking) been triggered by my infection. But for crying out loud, why argue that you shouldn't even try cuz we don't know "what to call" it?

@MoriartyLab @LymeGen Fortunately, I have the resources to be treated by highly doctors at Columbia (hardly a sketchy institution) who have extensive clinical as well as research experience with TBD. They think my clinical picture + Bartonella serology warrant treatment. 5/n
