Flexing I see. 225M for a $2.5b+ company vs. 221M Docker pulls for an open source project with the financial support of less than $10k ๐Ÿ˜

Next.js was downloaded 225M times in 2023, which is incredible because weโ€™re, quite literally and technically, just getting started.

@JordanHall_dev @heyandras Hi Jordan๐Ÿ‘‹ You can certainly deploy multiple apps at a time, CapRover takes care of queuing them. Are you interested in not queuing the builds? The queue is actually done intentionally to avoid freezing your server

@thomascenni @saturn4me Ubuntu 18.04 works fine with Docker swarm. We've had no reports indicating that it could cause issues. But we have seen some reports that Ubuntu 20.04 can cause some issues with Docker swarm, so stay away from 20.04 for now. 18.04 is fine.

@gitlab any technical reason behind disallowing double hyphens in Docker image names or it's just an oversight? They are valid in Docker world and frequently being used as an internal separator. Any chance that you remove this limitation?

@_skris @mattdyor @render @awscloud Thanks! CapRover just uses plain Docker build under the hood and in theory there shouldn't be any discrepancies. Would love to see what is going on here as soon as you have a sample app that exhibits this behavior.

@JulianEngel13 received multiple feedbacks during past year that some businesses could not use CaptainDuckDuck because they thought it does not sound good to tell their client at their website is running on CaptainDuckDuck. Which is fair.

@lc_fd Regarding the installation, the recommended way as mentioned in the doc is using CLI, see here: Regarding service remaining inactive, that's fully on Docker side, CapRover doesn't manage the services in general. But again, feel free to open an issue on GH

@JordanHall_dev @heyandras Can you please open an issue on our Github issues? More details are needed (such as what deployment methods you're using, whether you build on github and push the image, or you build the image on CapRover server). But regardless, it should be possible to deploy multiple apps!

@JonOnTheWeb Short answer: No, unfortunately. Currently one-click apps are built in the web client code. We ideally want to move them to the backend. Once we do, it'll be possible to deploy them via CLI.

@julianwachholz @kunjee @dokku CapRover doesn't do anything specific, but Docker swarm waits for the new service to be healthy before killing the old service. Look into stop-first vs start-first. By default all apps are start-first.

@danokhlopkov @dokku Core difference is mostly UI/UX. Dokku is mostly a CLI tool, CapRover is mostly a web gui tool. CapRover is built on top of docker swarm. Dokku is using plain docker by default, but allows for custom schedulers like k8s. Both are very similar, but built out for different tastes.
