@kittypurrzog RD is right that XXY and XO were included, but wrong that this hugely inflated F-S’s estimate. That was due to Late-Onset Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, which accounts for almost 90% of the 1.7%. RD conclusion is still right, since LOCAH not an intersex condition by any stretch.

Amazingly, Prof. Fuentes is unconvinced by our compelling argument. @hoovlet and I actually had the textbook definition of sex in an earlier draft, but it wasn’t especially relevant so we took it out. Also the op-ed doesn’t use ‘gender’ (except in phrases like ‘gender identity’).
